Vintage 2003 Volkswagen VW New Beetle Convertible Cabriolet 5 Speed GLS 2.0 L

Are you looking for that fun summer convertible that also gets great gas mileage? This is it... a VW New Style Beetle Convertible.

This VW Cabriolet is a 2003. It spent much of its life in Illinois in the same family, passed down from father to daughter. Below is a video collection of the car:

This vehicle has been well maintained but does have cosmetic dings and marks from use.

Mechanically, it has a brand new battery, recent tires, a brand new clutch and new timing belt. It starts and runs extremely well, without blue smoke and doesn't use oil. It shifts perfectly without any gear or synchro issues and the clutch feels awesome. It is smooth without shakes and shimmys when driven down the road, and the brakes work well. You would never know the mileage when driving the car as it feels like 50K. As with most of these, there is an occasional check engine light (random misfire) and I am including a new coil pack which may take care of it. I purchased it but the light is so random, I never replaced the coil pack.

Cosmetically, it is nice but a bit challenged as you can see. There are small dings and scratches, primarily on the front and rear bumpers and some minor rust starting on the rockers. The floor pans and underbody are great, and the top is nice aside from some minor rear window glass separation. The wheels do have some corrosion and a few marks from use as shown. The interior is starting to show wear with seat seams that have small rips. There is no broken glass and it appears to be complete.

It features heated leather seats, VW Moonsoon stereo,A/C (needs recharge), and power top as well as other options. The original owner's manual, warranty booklet and even the original window sticker is included. It has probably had some touch up / work on the bumpers but believe it is original paint on the rest of the vehicle.

To summarize, it is our opinion that this vehicle would be a very nice addition to anyone's fleet or collection. It would make a great project for the VW enthusiast.

This vehicle is sold as-is. We cannot warranty any parts on any used vehicle. Also note there are marks from use and age as shown in the photos. Any of these should be trailered to their destination until the vehicle is insured and checked over for safety (tires, etc).

The title is free and clear. As with all vintage vehicles, we are also requiring a bill of sale be signed by the new owner stating this vehicle is being purchased as-is.

The successful high bidder needs to contact us within 48 hours of auction end with a $500 PayPal deposit unless we are contacted in advance and submit payment by means of cashier’s check (verifiable), bank wire transfer or cash within 7 days of auction end. We do not accept checks or payments other than those outlined. Personal or non-bank issued business checks will be rejected.

Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, and any applicable title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered.

All shipping charges are buyer's responsibility. We can help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our possession. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the shipper, not with the seller.

The terms of sale shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin without regard to any conflict of laws or provisions thereof that might indicate the applicability of laws of any other jurisdiction. The venue for all legal proceedings shall be in Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
