Description

Selling my 1995 K2500 6.5 Diesel Suburban
please read this post in its entirety- I am in no hurry to sell, and I will not budge on the price, this truck is well worth it.
Bought it almost 2 years ago from Lake City Florida and I have put on 48k driving repeatedly to Kansas and West Palm Beach. It tows fine, I pulled a 8,600 lbs travel trailer from Tampa to SOMD.
It has a Class V Hitch rated up to 10,000 lbs
43 gallon tank
Brake Controller P-3 inertial
New Air Conditioner components and it works well ( AC Condenser, compressor, drier, accumulator, orifice tube, blower motor, and blower motor resister, 4.1 lbs of refrigerant) replaced in July 2016 (lifetime warranty on the compressor through Advanced Auto)
New Injector Pump and Injectors at 208k (aprx $3k)
New front brake pads 198k
Drum brakes 198k
4 inch exhaust 198k
Undercarriage has been rust proofed with rustoleum liner. This is Florida truck, the only salt it has seen is when I drop French fries.
Oil Changed fanatically every 3k
Fuel filter replaced with air filter every 10k
Pitman arm
Tires 202k still great tread remaining
2 new batteries 1 year warranty remaining from NAPA
1 alternator with warranty receipts in the glove compartment
Pump mounted drive relocation kit-- with spare (high fail item on the 6.5 no problems since relocation)
Manual wastegate Turbo regulator from XDP (vacuum pump is a high fail item on these, the manual boost control is more reliable, it is adjustable but FYI anything greater than 15psi will give you a check engine light.
Harmonic Dampener 210k
and many other minor thing like: headlights, fog lights, cabin lighting, etc.
The interior is a bit rough, but if you are buying one of these you are not too worried about the interior, the importance lays with the mechanical. The exterior as you see is fading and peeling, very common on the hoods of Suburban's for this body style. Driver's seat has tears and is a bit worn as well as the front passenger. It does have the 3rd row seat, all grey leather.
This is mechanically sound, never abused, or neglected. If you are not savvy with diesels of this age, I highly recommend you take it to a mechanic so you can have an unbiased professional tell you how great of shape this is in.
Things it will need in the future:
1) Power steering line to be replace, it is leaking gradually. I noticed a few drops on the ground, checked the reservoir and refilled (halfway empty) 5k miles later still semi full, not a crisis, but as responsible seller I think you should be aware of it.
2) Ball joints will need to be replaced and an alignment completed. Again, not a crisis I planned on doing it after the tires had worn substantially. It drives fine, pulls straight, uneven wear is negligible so not urgent.
3) Driver door is beginning to sag, not urgent, but enough to require a firmer door closing when closing the door.
4) Front passenger door (power lock switch) will not lock all, it WILL unlock all doors, the switch will need to be replaced ($25) at partsgeek.com but this has not affected my life in the least since my wife sits in the back with our toddler when we drive.
