Description

Thank you for visiting my auction today. First, let me say that you are dealing with a car enthusiast that enjoy collecting and driving these types of vehicles, and have been an EBay member since 2001 with a perfect score of 100%, so rest assure that you are dealing with a responsible and serious person. Please read all the information’s listed on this auction, as I took my time in writing this listing to represent my car very accurately to the next buyer. I have sold some very nice and expensive cars here on Ebay, and always received a 100% feed back from all the buyers (please check my Ebay history).
This is an immaculate 1972 Mercedes Benz 280SEL (W108 body style) Southern car from Atlanta GA in pristine condition and low mileage (might be slightly higher as I am still enjoying it on beautiful days). Also, this Benz has the very rare and sough after factory sunroof option which operates flawlessly and the "floor shifter" (refer to the pictures).
This Mercedes had the following done:-The timing chain was replaced.-The tensioner was replaced.-The rear main seal was replaced.-The transmission mounts were replaced.- The car was stripped and repainted.- The hood pad was replaced with a brand new one.- The radio was replaced with a brand new Pioneer (old radio will be included).- Original radiator was completely rebuilt.- A couple of window motor replaced. - A couple of window regulators regulators were replaced.- The front driver seat was reupholstered.- All the spark plugs and wires were replaced.- The hood latch was replaced.- All the fluids, filters were changed.- All the engine belts were replaced.- The AC was converted to the new R134.- The steering gasket was replaced.- All the carpet is brand new.- Serviced all the brakes.- Replaced the fuel pump.- The batterry is brand new with 3 years warranty.- Replaced the trunk gasket.- Cleaned the fuse terminal and replaced a couple of them. And the list goes on....and I am probably forgetting a few items.
This Mercedes is in my opinion a strong 9 out of 10, for being a 44 years old Benz, and they do not come for sale in this condition very often, the pictures speak for themselves. All the lights, AC/heat, sunroof, front switches for all windows operates properly, even the "fasten seat belts" illuminate when belts are not fastened! The 4.5L V8 engine is powerful and runs smoothly. The transmission shifts properly thru all the gears. The chrome is in excellent condition (except for a very small blemish in the rear), and the paint is brand new and shine beautifully (please refer to the pictures). The interior is in excellent condition (couple of missing wood trims but not noticeable), and some very minor wear to the seat also hardly noticeable (see pictures) but the front driver seat was redone, the dashboard is cracks free, the clock is not working (probably need the tiny new battery replaced), the locking system work individually on each door/trunk, but not automatically (probably a vacuum leak, which does not bother me).The sunroof opens and closes without any issues and the headliner is perfect (see pictures). The antenna goes up and down manually perfectly.
This 1972 Mercedes Benz 280SEL drives and performs as it should be, and will last forever with proper care and maintenance. The style, chic design and history behind these Mercedes models will remain a classic forever.
This Mercedes Benz will come with 2 keys, a clean title on hand, a tool kit, all the manuals, a folder full of receipts and the W108 service book (please refer to the picture).
When placing a bid on this rare Mercedes Benz, please make sure to compare "apples to apples", and pay attention to the caliber and shape this car is in, and most importantly who you are buying it from....
