UP FOR SALE is my 2014 Lambo Murcielago Kit Car Project, incl. a 370HP donor car…

 It is probably the most complete kit you will come across on the internet. I have invested over $17,000 in this kit, including all the upgrades, and was planning to enjoy the build and subsequent ride. Unfortunately my health requires me to sell. I am a 100% positive, long time eBayer and CraigsLister with over $50K bought and sold online and not one single complaint.

I already have so many extras that most kits need, so you can be assured you are getting a great project that CAN be completed. PLEASE look at all the items included in this auction. There is enough here to make this a truly one-of-a-kind build (which is the only builds I do). NOTE: I have over 100 pics of the car and pieces, but eBay only lets me post 24. ABOUT THE DONOR CAR

 

This kit is unique in that it was designed to be retrofitted over a Pontiac Firebird chassis. While the Firebird is a front engine car, the kit is designed to look like a rear engine car, and it does an excellent job of it. This type kit provides for a much better driving experience and power band than the standard Pontiac Fiero.

1993 Firebird Formula, 5.7 LT1 V8, with 6-Speed Manual Transmission.

The vehicle was purchased out of Austin, Texas and has a clear title. It runs and drives. It may need tuneup as it has sat for about 4 months (it still starts and runs, but I would tune it up and run some injector leaner through it).

I drove it home from Austin and around town for about a month before we cut it up. It ran and drove fine. However, this sale is As-Is due to the fact that we cannot control what someone else does with the vehicle after they receive it, and the fact that this is a kit project.

DONOR CAR - WORK DONE

 

NOTE: We were building the ride to be show car, as you can probably tell by the extras we bought. If you want to change the end product to a performance Kit Car, you will want to stiffen the suspension and beef up the subframe, etc. Speed costs a lot more than good looks, so we were going for the show. It would have been a great driver, but not a race tuned vehicle.

All required cutting on donor has been completed with the exception of trim cuts for final adjustment after sub framing. Lambo Engine Cover - Upgraded. I bought the best Lambo Engine Replica on the market at the time, then I upgraded it to look so much like an actual engine that, when it is under glass, people have to stare in order to know that it’s not an actual ”rear engine”, but a replica! A LOT of work went into this piece. You’ll enjoy it. The rear axle width has been extended 6.3 inches to spec. We used professionally milled aircraft aluminum axle wheel spacing for both the front and the rear. The front has been widened approx 3.9 inches to fit the kit. Interior has been mostly removed for new components. The main elements you will receive in this auction include two new lambs-style seats, new molded floor, and center console outer fiberglass housing. NOTE: As with ALL kits, there are a LOT of little fitments that only the builder can do, so you will still have to purchase some things to make it all fit like you like it. And the interior materials, purchase, and design are always up to the builder. That’s you now. I DID purchase 2-4 yds of excellent leather material that I am sending with the project. Rear Clip “roll-bar mount” was rough-in installed. Front suspension has been lowered approx 2” for stance. Brand new Helo 20” wheels and directional tread tires have been mounted (NOTE: After mounting, we felt that the front wheels/tires were too large. We have not changed these out. If you desire to do so for stance without bagging the chassis, we will give you the information so that you can get 18” front wheel/tire combo from the same dealer that we got the 20s from). THESE TIRES AND WHEELS ARE 1 YEAR OLD, BUT HAVE BEEN UP ON BLOCKS AND HAVE LESS THAN 1 MILE ON THEM, TOTAL TRAVEL! This wheel/tire combo cost approx $1400 at the time of purchase. The tires are heat rated for ultra high performance. The dash gauge panel and housing has been removed in anticipation of sending it off to McNord Gauges for a new insert that reads up to 200MPH and says “Lamborghini” on it. We have a professional Photoshop design that we can share with you if you want it, or you can design your own. Rear seats removed. Gas tank filler downspout cut to accept hose that goes to the Lambo Filler Unit. A portion of the from windshield and kit mount has been fabricated. We can show you what is needed for the rest, or you can do it on your own. Doors removed. Passenger side lambo hinge modified and installed. Ready for test fitting. Other mods that we might have forgotten, lol.

THE KIT

The actual kit is fiberglass. We lightly coated the glass with a clear matte just to protect the fiberglass and keep it from turning too brittle during the build.

Front clip (modified to remove mold lines that do not match the original Lambo look and style). Rear Clip (complete and in fairly good condition cosmetically. Great condition structurally). KIT UPGRADE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES

NOS (new old stock) Genuine Lamborghini Steering Wheel with fabricated centerpiece. (This wheel alone costs over $1900 from a dealer. We got ours from a guy I know in the business, and he gave us a great deal. About $600 as I recall). New. Brushed Aluminum shifter knob and downtube. (This looks so much like the real brushed aluminum option Murc shifter that I can’t tell any difference. It is quality. We paid $150 for the knob itself. The down tube/shaft was only $20 or so.)… New. Lamborghini (fabricated) Helo Wheel centerpieces. Custom fabricated. (These aren’t heavy duty, but they look great!) New. Custom Detailed Lamborghini Engine Mock-Up Full Cover (for rear engine bay). NOTE: This is an EXTREMELY detailed engine mock-up with 3D relief lettering, badging, and engine elements, chrome appliqué letter, badge, and engine block standouts, and genuine stainless set screws! This engine looks REAL from a few feet away!!! New. Custom, professional milled aircraft aluminum wheel hub extenders (front and rear. These were about $900 for all four, but they fit perfectly, and are strong enough to handle 500 ft pounds of torque each). New. Custom Lambo-style seats. (These seats are brand new and cost about $200 each. I took one out to photograph it, but they are both brand new. NOTE: I think you will want to section about 4” out of the bottom of the seat back rather than drop the front floor pans…it would be a lot easier, but that’s your call.) 20-tube Million Color Undercarriage and Interior LED lighting kit New. LED Lambo-style Tail light/turn signal (set). This set looks SO much like the sport tail light option offered by Lamborghini. Again, these are quality product. These are complete with LED transformer and ready to wire in and go. New. 2-Custom MultiFlex Cold Air Induction hose (the ends are anodized metal, not plastic). New. Gold Plated Lamborghini Black Ceramic Insert Replica Lambo Hood Ornament (there are VERY few of these out there on the market with this level of craftsmanship and quality. We paid over $350 for it, but it is worth it. This one was imported from Australia and is one of the best I’ve ever seen). New. COMPLETE shaved door handle (handless) door popper kit with keyless remote entry. (Note: As you can see in the pic, there are actually FOUR complete electronic door sets. This is because we were planning to used the other two to pop the Targa top electronically when we wanted to remove it, a REALLY cool touch!) New. Complete black molded carpet insert (to fit the Firebird Molded floor). New. Pointer AVH-X4500BT Stereo Unit with head. (THIS IS IMPORTANT…we bought this unit because it has a PROGRAMMABLE HOME/START SCREEN. I.E. you can program the home/start screen with the Lamborghini stereo background. We have that design available in various file formats if you want to use it. We’ll give it to you for free). This unit has a LOT of bells and whistles. I recommend that you Google the specs. It’s a nice one! New. 4 - 62.9i (intelligence) Infinity Kappa door/mid stereo speaker. These babies are killer nice. I have these in another ride of mine. They are clear, crisp, and can handle most anything you throw at them! Really nice Speakers! New. 1- Box FatMat (DynaMat-type) noise reduction inter underflooring (50sq. ft). This is a real bonus when you want a kit car to ride quiet! New. Brembo (blue) Poly Brake Caliper Covers (4, for both front and back calipers +one extra (used) in a different shade blue. New. Rambo Gauge Rings (Plastic - I was going to use them for the shifter seat ring and accessory buttons ring in the console, and for seat rings around the electric window switches). New. Tao Industries Digital Rear View Camera - full color/full motion, day/night. (This really helps with a kit like this…besides it’s really cool! New. Tao Industries Digital day/night rear view camera (for Digital Rear View Mirror.). New. Lambo logo Valve Stem Caps (4) NOS (New Old Stock). Complete gauge panel. Professionally disassembled and ready to send to McNords for your custom gauge panel face plate. NOS. Fully assembled, completely refurbished, firebird gauge panel (in case you just want to plug and play). New. Alexi gauge panel cover (clear). New. LED Brake Light Bar (back window style). Used. Two GENUINE Mercedes gull-wing door hinges (L&R) in case you want the option to open the doors conventionally instead of shaving the handles. Genuine Lamborghini Gallardo Front Lower Air Intake Grill Mesh Panels (I have two. They do not fit the Murc, but are great for reference). NOS. Electronic mirror components (1 only). NOTE: The mirrors themselves will need to be cut at your local glass shop, but the hardware, electronics, etc are good quality NOS. Used. Custom Molded Intake-to-Firewall Cold Air Hose Couplings (4 plus faux engine mount blocks (if you want to use them. Personally, I planned to make the engine box clean, using carbon fiber contact paper and formed framing). Used. Electronic mirror component (one only…still in the original casing off a vehicle that uses electric mirrors). Lightweight, custom Lamborghini style door hinges (NOTE: We started fab work on the passenger door, so it is on the car right now. These hinges have to be customized, but they are really nice. Again, these aren’t cheap components). Heavy gauge steel door hinges (originally bought with the kit. We upgraded to the lighter hinges mentioned above). Lambo-style black grill mesh. (2 sizes, as needed to make the kit look realistic. All new, although it has been in storage for about a year. It’s still good and just needs dusting and straightening by laying it out in the sun for a day or so. Some of it is straight still. ALL of it is usable.) New. Under Door Lamborghini logo downlight. (when you open the door, the light shines a logo on the ground to light the area where you enter and exit the vehicle. You won’t be able to mount these on the BOTTOM of a Lambo-style door for obvious reasons, but we were going to mount them on the inside front door panel so that when the door raised up, they would shine on the ground at the proper angle. 2-3 yards Black matte leather material (for interior) @ $22 per yd. Other upgrades possible, it's hard to remember them all, lol.

 

SOME THINGS YOU WILL NEED

 

HID Headlight Kit. We haven’t gotten around to getting those, and now I won’t be getting them.

4 or 5 point seat belt restraint system (or conventional seat belt system. The ones in the car aren't in great shape).

 

Various types of metal, wood, leather, etc. to fabricate the interior, and to “seam in” the spaces between the kit and the actual car frame itself.

 

Paint and Body supplies ( or get someone to do it for you).

 

NOTE: I have a small box of fiberglass mat, resin and harder I will throw in if you want it.

 

FIRST TIME KIT BUYERS BEWARE…THIS IS NOT A BOLT UP KIT!!!

This is an advanced fab kit, requiring that you use or secure various fabrication skills to complete. The advantage of this kit over bolt-ons is an obvious MAJOR quality upgrade when the project is completed. The down side is that you will have to put the hours in. (That wasn’t a downside for me as I LOVED working on the project.)

THE THINGS WE HAVE DONE AS FAR AS FAB IS AS FOLLOWS:

Remove all necessary primary cuts from the donor car. There will be some trimming, etc to do as you go. Lower the front end by 2” using custom lowering springs. (I have the same set for the back, but I don’t think it will need it or even take it with 20s on it. TEST FIT THE REAR AND FRONT CLIPS. The rear clip fits well. The front clip needs either some fab around the wheel well area, which I would not recommend, or a smaller Helo Wheel/Tire combo in front. The ACTUAL Lamborghini is staggered usually with 20s or 19s on the rear, and 19s or 18s on the front. Personally, I would leave the 20s on the rear and get 18s for the front. This would REALLY set the kit up well. Widened the wheel axle hubs to fit the kit (rear and front). Started test and fab on the passenger side door. (We didn’t get too far. I still have the wood mock-up frame on the door). Roughed in the front window side frame and the rear clip attachment roll bar (not a conventional roll bar, it’s there only to attach the rear clip to) That should be about it...

ALSO NOTE: 

I took a pic with some of the parts positioned on the donor car to show you what the kit would look like at a later stage. Those parts are NOT fastened on. The only thing test fitted by fasteners is the rear clip.
