Description

Are you looking for a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Project? This is it... a local barn find 1967 Mustang Fastback that is in need of a complete restoration. It is not for the faint of heart, but every part it needs is reproduced. Please review all photos and item description before bidding.

This classic muscle car spent much of its life stored in Southeast WI and is a fairly complete vehicle. It is in need of a complete restoration as you can see. Please scroll down and enjoy the 300+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click here.

It was surprising to us that this car started life as an automatic. It is a 289 2 BBL car with the Shelby style luxury interior, rare overhead console, fold down rear seat, GT ribbed taillight panel, etc. It was rode hard and put away wet as they say, with fender flares and at some time was converted to a 4 speed.

Condition Report:

This vehicle has been stored for years in a barn. It needs to be disassembled and restored and is not for the faint of heart. While it appears nearly complete, it needs to be completely restored. The vehicle is dirty, the paint is faded, and the engine may be stuck. We are unsure if the engine is original to the vehicle. In addition, it will need subframe work, brakes, lines, and just about everything else to run and be roadworthy. The underbody is as rough as we have seen, and will need just about every part they reproduce, or a rust free coupe as a donor car. The engine may be stuck, and we do not believe it to be numbers matching. As you can see, the springs are coming through the trunk and they were patched once years ago.

The good news is that every or nearly every part needed is reproduced as far as metal, and it is complete or nearly complete including the radio bezel, seats, metal trim, extra parts such as a deck lid, trunk, rear panel, extra deluxe door panels, and all original Fomoco tinted glass (including the windshield) that is crack free. The roof panel is also in great shape, as is the dash. The Hurst 4 speed is also present, pedals, etc. and two sets of front grills. It also has a clear WI title, and we ordered the Marti Report which will be included with the sale. Also note the original door tag and VIN stamped in the fender. All the extra parts shown are included including the turbine wheels. The interior shows wear and needs a good cleaning as well. The locks and keys are there and work.

To summarize, it is our opinion that this vintage 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback would make a great restoration project, and an awesome Shelby or Eleanor clone but needs a complete restoration and is being sold as-is-where-is. This rare find would make a great project for the Ford Mustang enthusiast, father and son or weekend mechanic.
