1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe 2 Door Coupe100% Original Untouched Car As found "Barn-Find" Stored since 1981!This Car sat covered in a Garage for 34 years!Documented Mileage Present Odometer Reading of 32. 76 HELLO. I AM POSTING THIS FOR A GOOD CAR FRIEND HERE IN COLORADO. YOUR LOOKING AT A DRY COLORADO CAR. A 1947 PLYMOUTH SPECIAL DELUXE COUPE THAT WAS JUST PULLED FROM A BARN (OLD SINGLE GARAGE) STORAGE FOR THE LAST 34 YEARS. THIS CAR IS A ABSOLUTE TIME CAPSULE AS IT WAS LEFT. JUST AS IT WAS IN 1981 WITH THE OWNERS MEDICINE. PERSONAL EFFECTS. ITEMS SAVED AND PAPERS FROM THE 50'S. 60'S. 70'S. THE CAR HAD MANY OF THE LADY OWNERS ITEMS LEFT UNDER THE SEAT. WOMENS GLOVES. LONG LOST FROM THE 50'S 60'S. TICKET STUBS FROM THE LOCAL DRIVE IN. GROCERY STORES. LOCAL SERVICE STATIONS SCRAPERS. CITY STATE LICENCE INSPECTION PERMITS WITH MILEAGE OVER THE YEARS. A JAR OF SAVED PENNIES ALL 1971 AND OLDER. OLD COLORADO ROAD MAP. A BIRTHDAY CARD FROM THE 50's. JUST SOME NEAT OLD STUFF. THIS CAR IS A ORIGNAL. UNALTERED CAR! THIS IS NOT A RESTORED CAR. OR A SHOW CAR. IT IS A ORIGNAL PATINA TYPE CAR WHICH IS VERY RARE AND VERY MUCH SOUGHT AFTER CLASSIC IN TODAYS MARKET. THE MILEAGE HISTORY. THE CAR HAD ONLY 13. 00 MILES ON IT FOR THE FIRST 24 YEARS! THEN IT HAD NEW PLUGS PUT IN AT 13. 02 MILES IN 1971! THE NEXT STATE INSPECTION LICENSE TAG SHOWED 17. 53 IN 1973. AND THE STATE INSPECTION TAG. THE ONE STILL IN THE WINDOW FOR 1981. THE MILEAGE WAS AT 30. 10 ON 11-1-1980 AND CURRENTLY ODOMETER IS NOW SHOWING TODAY AT 32. 76. LAST YEAR ON THE ROAD WAS 1981. THIS CAR WAS USED BY A LITTLE 'OL LADY AS THEY SAY AND SHE PUT THE CAR AWAY IN 1981 AND THERE IT HAS SAT LOCKED IN THE GARAGE (SKELETON KEY AND PAD LOCK) FOR THE LAST 34 YEARS. THE CAR STILL HAS ALL FOUR SNOW TIRES FROM THE 60'S STILL IN PLACE AND A BLOCK HEATER FOR THE COLD WINTERS WITH GOOD ANTI-FREEZE STILL PRESENT. THE CAR HAS HAD NO MICE. OR CRITERS GET INSIDE AND HAS SURVIVED THE YEARS IN DARK STORAGE AS IS. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CAR. JUST A EXTENSIVE DETAIL AND GETTING THE CAR BACK RUNNING & SERVICED. BRAKES. ENGINE FLUIDS. OIL CHANGE. GAS LINES AND TANK CLEANED AND READY TO BE RE-SEALED. UPPER END ENGINE COMPARTMENT CLEANED AND NEW 6 VOLT BATTERY. THE CAR FIRED RIGHT UP AFTER PUTTING IN MARVEL MYSTERY OIL IN EACH CYLINDER TO BE SAFE. FOR THE FIRST START-UP IN 30+ YEARS TO RECONDITION ALL THE CYLINDER WALLS. AMAZINGLY- EVERYTHING WORKS JUST LIKE NEW! STARTER IS GOOD. ENGINE PURRS NO SMOKING AT ALL. IDLES GREAT. EXHAUST IS GOOD NO HOLES FROM SITTING. ALL LIGHTS ELECTRIC ALL WORK. HIGH BEAM. BLINKERS. BRAKE LIGHT. nbsp;DASH LIGHTS SWITCH. DOME LIGHT SWITCH. ALL GUAGES. OIL PRESSURE. VOLT METER. GAS. RADIO LIGHTS UP. nbsp;BUT NO SOUND? NEEDS SIMPLE TUBE MOST LIKELY. BUTTONS ON -OFF WORK OK AND RADIO BUTTONS OPERATE AND DIAL BUTTON. ODOMETER WORKS FINE AND THE SPEEDOMETER ALSO. FAN AND DEFROST HEATER. ALL WORK AS DOES THE CIGARETE LIGHTER. DASH CHOKE LEVER AND THROTTLE LEVER. CENTER VENT LEVER ARE ALL GREAT AND OPERATE WITH EASE. ALL WORK GREAT. PUSH BUTTON START BUTTON WORKS GREAT. KEY IN DASH IGNITION IS ORIGINAL. WITH SWITCH WORKING GREAT. GLOVE BOX. ALL WINDOWS OPERATE FINE. DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE GOOD AS DOES TRUNK. NEW MASTER CYLINDER KIT WAS NEEDED AND BRAKE PEDAL IS ARE UP NOW AND OPERATE GOOD. EMERGENCY BRAKE (TRANSMISSION) WORKS AND IS FREE. NO LEAKS UNDER THE CAR. THE UNDERSIDE IS GREASY AS THE SERVICE MAN WAS VERY LIBERAL WITH THE GREASE GUN!THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE CAR. THE EXTERIOR PAINT HAS BEEN RESPRAYED ONLY ONCE. IT LOOKS LIKE IN 1959 FOR $63. 75 AND IS STILL THE ORIGINAL LACQURE PAINT IN PLYMOUTH "CHEVRON BLUE". THE CAR HAD ONLY TWO DING SPOTS REPAIRED AT THAT TIME THAT WE COULD FIND. A SMALL QUARTER SIZE SPOT ON THE HOOD AND A HAND SIZE SPOT ON THE TRUNK LID BEFORE THE OVERALL REPAINT. NO BODY WORK ANYWHERE. OTHER THAN THAT! JUST A NORMAL REPAINT. THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT. WITH NO ACCIDENT DAMAGE ANYWHERE FOUND. NORMAL DINGS AND SCRATCHES FROM NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE BODY CURRENTLY. MISS GRADY SHE GRAZED THE SIDE PASSENGER REAR FENDER ON THE GARAGE WALL AND DINGED THE REAR BUMPER. OVERALL THE PAINT IS VERY GOOD AND VERY DURABLE THICK! IT COULD BE COLOR SANDED AND BUFFED AGAIN EASY! CHROME AND BRIGHT WORK IS ALL GREAT AND NO PITTING ANYWHERE. POT METAL IS EXCELLENT. GLASS IS GOOD. BUT SOME SCATCHES DO TO AGE. ALL GLASS IS ORIGNAL GLASS. BUT DRIVERS FRONT WINDOW. BUT IT TOO IS VERY OLD- 50'S? FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS TWO STAR CHIPS. NO CRACKS. COMPLETE ORIGINAL INTERIOR IS VERY GOOD FOR THE AGE. ESPECIALLY THE SEATS. THEY ARE FIRM AND DURABLE NOT FRAIL. FABRIC IS STAINED ON DOOR PANELS. BUT OK AS IS. CHROME WORK ON DASH AND SIDE DOORS IS AWESOME AND CLEAN. BODY RUST ISSUES. I CALL THIS A 92% RUST FREE CAR. AS THE MAIN FLOORS AND TRUNK FLOORS ARE ALL IN SUPER ORIGINAL SHAPE. THERE IS SOME RUSTING ON THE FRONT FLOOR OUTER SEAM. 6 INCHES OR SO ON THE FLOOR JOINT TO THE LARGE RUBBER ENTRY PLATES- WHERE THE BIG CLIPS MEET. VERY ISOLATED! THE SMALL BODY BRACES HAD MUD PACKED IN THEM WHICH CAUSED SOME OF THE MID SECTIONS OF THE BRACE TO RUST OUT ON THE BRACE. BUT ALL ARE SAVEABLE AND A EASY REPAIRS ON THE CAR. NO STRENGTH ISSUES FROM THIS NOTED. THE DOORS ARE GREAT AND THE SEAMS ARE PERFECT. FRONT FENDERS ARE GREAT ONE SPOT THE SIZE OF A PENCIL HEAD DUE TO A TAR BALL STUCK ON BACK SIDE. THERE IS ONE SPOT OF RUST OUT ON THE LOWER DRIVERS REAR 1/4. ABOUT 8-12 INCHES AND THE LOWER ROCKER SPOT. PLEASE SEE PICTURES. ANY RUST ON THE CAR IS VERY ISOLATED ONLY DUE TO GOOD OLD COLORADO DIRT PACKING. THE METAL NEXT TO A ISOLATED RUST OUT IS PERFECT. REMEMBER VERY ISOLATED AREAS OF RUST AND DRY AS BONE METAL OVERALL. AGAIN A 92% RUST FREE CAR OVERALL. THERE ARE A FEW SPOTS UNDER THE TAIL LIGHTA AT THE BUMBPER TRAY AREA. ALL ISOLATED AND EASY FILL IN IF DESIRED. EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL NOTHING HIDDEN NO BODY WORK DONE ON THE CAR. LEFT AS IS TO SHOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR GETTING. UNTOUCHED PATINA ORIGINAL CAR WITH JUST BRUSH TOUCH-UPS TO THE SCRATCHES AND CHIPS. WELL THATS ABOUT ALL I CAN SAY FOR NOW. nbsp;IT'S JUST A FANTASTIC ORIGINAL 1947 PLYMOUTH CAR THAT IS VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION ANYMORE. VERY RARE INDEED. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING ENJOY THE MANY DETAILED PICTURES. ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE JUST ASK FOR HONEST ANSWERS! THANKS!
