Description

1984 Pontiac Trans Am. Rust free west coast car with 91,500 original miles. Original 305HO motor runs great and passes smog. Extensive maintenance history and recent work including professionally rebuilt carburetor and automatic transmission. Air conditioning rebuilt and upgraded to R134 (works great and is nice and cold). All new belts, oses, lugs, lug wires, ap and rotor, hermostat and O2 sensor. New windshield, ew power steering pump, nd new exhaust including catalytic converter. New Kelly Charger radials with less than 1000 miles, ew KYB shocks, nd new 4 wheel disc brakes with upgraded cross drilled rotors.
The interior is in excellent condition. The car came with Option L69, nterior Upgrade group which includes Lear Siegler seats (similar to Recaros) and a locking rear interior storage cover. There is minor wear on the steering wheel and console but not bad. Seats, arpet, oor panels, ash pad, -top carrier bag and pull down shade are all very nice. There is one seat adjuster knob missing, ut they are the same as the Recaro knobs.
The car was repainted last year in the original Medium Royal Blue Metallic with silver trim. This was a full repaint effort - all of the bumpers, rim, nd ground effects were removed and the door dings and scratches were all repaired. The final paint job was clear coated and hand polished and looks great. This was a $3000 paint job. The body work is perfect, nd the blue and silver paint are perfect. There are a few small imperfections in the clear coat but you have to look close to find them. Not a big deal, ut I am trying to be accurate in my description. As a bonus, he paint guy gave me about a pint of the blue paint that was left over which is great for touch-ups and rock chips!
After the paint job, ll weather stripping was replaced including cowl seal, oors, -tops, runk seal and window felts. All new decals were put on, ith the exception of the fade away stripes above the silver ground effects. You can always buy your own and put them on for the full original look. I also had the black rubber body side protectors left off. The car looks cleaner without them. They come with the car and you can easily put them back on if desired.
The car has been very well taken care of but still needs a few small things. Here are the punch list items that would be nice to fix:
  • The spring in the drivers door popped out. I have the spring but can't seem to get it back in.
  • The fabric on the passenger door looks like it got wet once and the fabric shrunk a little. It does not quite cover the cardboard door card at the front edge, ut you can only see this with the door open.
  • The previous owner put in a new Pioneer stereo with CD player, SB port, luetooth, nd remote control, ut I am pretty sure the car still has the old original speakers. The sound is really not impressive. New speakers would help a lot!
  • The interior back panels are designed to be easily removed for access to the spare tire and rear tail lights. Most of the original plastic screws dried out and broke. I can't find replacements in the original blue, ut you can still buy them in gray.
  • The power side view mirrors are not working. Still adjustable by hand, but no power.
  • It does leak a little oil as most cars from the 80's do. Not a ton, ut it does need a drip pan to keep the garage clean.
Overall this car is in great condition. It looks great, uns great and is really fun to drive. It turns a lot of heads too. You can keep it all original and really enjoy it, r it would be very easy to do a mild hot rod build. The engine is a very common GM 305 V8. It is very easy and inexpensive to rebuild, pgrade and add horsepower. There is also a huge selection of aftermarket suspension parts available.
I tried to be complete in my description and have attached a lot of pictures, ut if you have any other questions please let me know. I can send you more pictures or give you my phone number and we can talk off line. I hate to sell the car, ut we are trying to consolidate vehicles and pay some bills. It has a clear title and is ready to go.
The car is located in Sparks, evada. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs but I am glad to coordinate with your shipper.
