Description

Up for auction is a 1973 VW camper van which is part of an estate sale. The owner had plans to slowly restore this van and travel the country but never finished, akes a great project for someone else because its complete and engine is strong. It's been sitting2 yearsyear in storage and I have not attempted to start it either but it was rebuilt and runs strong. Feel free to come by and spend the day testing it if you like.

The family saidof the previous owner stated the following:

"Facts: Less than 10,000 miles on new engine and radial tires, ew CV axles on both sides, ew brakes and calipers( but are a bit sticky from sitting), ew dual carb conversion kit, nd new extra cables for throttle, lutch, nd heater." The van has been in storage for about 2 years with a battery tender hooked to it and it did start right up after a few pumps of the gas pedal. The interior is quite nice for a 1973. Amazingly there are no rips or tears in the canvas or screens. The cabinets are in good shape. It does need new trim around the edges of the interior which you can get in a roll and it just pushes in the groove. It has a table, ce box, nd a sink. The rear seat folds down to a decent size bed and a small bed up top unfolds for a smaller person. There is a privacy curtain that snaps in place around the front windows and a rear screen panel that snaps in place in the rear so you can sleep with the rear hatch open on nice nights. And there is an awning which I did not take out to set up. All this stuff is in very good shape. You can see in the pictures the areas that the body would need repaired. The underside of the body(frame work) is solid with some rust on the front and rockers as you can see in the pictures.

With some body work and a paint job this would be a very nice camper van.The owner spent nearly $4,000.oo having the engine done, xles, ual carb kit, nd other things so it just needs someone to take it to the next step to be a nice van and a good investment.
