This is a classic Karmann coupe 1964 Porsche 356C with matching numbers. finished in its original factory color combination. signal red exterior (color # 6407). with black leather interior. Car purchased in January 2010. this car has been driven very little on the road during these last 5 years. The odometer reads 151. 00 km and all indications point to that mileage being original. The original driver's manual is still with the car. Among all of the 1960's Porsche 356 models. the 356C is the most desirable and the most valuable. The 356C is the only Porsche 356 to come with four-wheel disc brakes. If you are looking for a classic and eloquent Porsche for your collection. this Signal Red Porsche 356C offers a great opportunity. The body on this 356C is another strong point. The body was completely stripped to its bear metal and repaired. New factory matching signal red paint was put on the car in 2012. The numbers matching engine was rebuilt 3 years ago by Chuck Allard. Rockville. MD. The crank rods. heads and flywheel were all re-machined. All sheet metal (including all parts received from Stoddard) were powder coated to original specs. New heads flycut and new valves were installed. Carburetors. fuel pump. brake calipers were rebuilt. As you may expect. the car does have a few minor oil drips. The car runs on a converted 12 volt electrical system. The interior is in great condition. The car has new floors. longitudinals. and exterior panels. All the interior carpet. sound deadening is also new. The pedal pads are new. The headliner has been replaced. The steering wheel has never been restored and it is still in excellent condition. The front and rear seats and dash pad have been replaced in leather. The Oil & Fuel temperature gauge needs to be rebuilt. The turn signal lever is missing the spring. The window chrome needs to be restored. All brake rotors and shock absorbers are new. The front trunk was completely restored. and a new sealed battery was purchased new in 2014. The car starts. stops. and drives very well. The car has new tires and an original #5 spare tire. As a testament to how original and authentic this car is. the original Blaupunkt 3-band AM/FM/SW radio is still in the car. it just needs to be connected. The steering and handling on this 356C are all very tight. This 356 comes with a binder full of receipts documenting all the body. paint. interior. electrical and engine work I’ve done to the car. That alone speaks to how well the car has been maintained and loved. The beautiful condition of this classic Porsche tells the rest of the story. The birth certificate that comes with the car (Porsche's Certificate of Authenticity) confirms the car's matching numbers engine (#714142). case (#616/15) and Chasis (#218858).
