To mark the 100,000th car rolling off the Neckarsulm production line, a limited edition was made available in either Satin Black Metallic or Zermatt Silver. Production of the Satin Black Metallic version was limited to just 250 examples built for the USA, with a total 423 built for the entire globe - This is a very rare Porsche 944. These cars are very reliable and because of their front-engine rear transaxle design they handle very well. All 944s are a lot of fun on a windy road and the higher performance cars can keep up with all but the fastest new cars.
These Celebration models were brought up to a very high specification at the factory, and featured black leatherette with the attractive grey "STUDIO" cloth and silver and grey carpeting. The new split rear seat backs were included, along with automatic heating control and removable electrically tilting sunroof. Wheels were the optional "Telephone Dials", integral fog lamps were also fitted at the front. US models did not have the rear "944" logo found on the cars for other markets. All of these beauties were shipped with a round commemorative medallion, which this car has, found applied to the inside of the glove box.
