California. He was a business owner in the North SF Bay. and his business partner also purchased an identical 1973 Porsche 911E Coupe (different color) on the same day. The business partner eventually totaled his 911E in a accident. Being partners. they agreed to take the lower-mile engine from the wrecked car and installed into the mint-condition silver one. (The engine numbers show how close the cars were: 6230024 and 6230052. 28 engines apart). So the engine and transmission are exactly correct for the car. but not the originals which were apparently left at an East SF Bay Porsche repair shop decades ago.
