Description

RUNNING! 1969 MGC GT for sale. Send me a message and I'll give you videos of it running. Only made for a few years. about 9000 were made. half of them were convertibles. And only half of them were sold in the USA. It's got a 3. 0 inline six cylinder and a 4 speed manual with overdrive. It has three aftermarket Weber sidedraft carbs on Maniflow intakes and electronic ignition. Other than those things. it's basically original. It's been in a Arizona garage since '81. Runs. but needs restored. Have Arizona title in hand. Located in Lubbock. TX. This was my uncle's car. he sold it to my grandfather in 1980 or 1981. My grandfather parked it in the garage and walked away. after he died. my dad inherited the car. I got it from him. When I got it this past summer. it was complete. except for it had no wipers and no keys. My dad did go find my uncle a few years ago and got him to sign the Arizona title in front of a notary. The carburetors were in a box and had been rebuilt. when I got the car home. So I installed them and put a new 12 volt battery in. I also replaced the cap rotor and wires. The points ignition was replaced with a Pertronix electronic ignition and Pertronix coil. I finally tried to start it. Since the car was from hot Arizona. I had no choke cable for the carbs and the hadn't had any gas in them. So it took a while to before I got the carbs adjusted to start it. I also washed the old gas out of the tank. It does run. but the fuel pump isn't working right now. It was leaking and I tried to rebuild it. but now it won't move any fluid. So I replaced the fuel pump with a generic electric pump. I still have the original fuel pump. After getting it started for the first time in 34 years. I saw the exhaust gaskets were leaking. I replaced the intake and exhaust gaskets. I also sandblasted the intakes and exhaust manifolds and painted them with high temp paint. I also replaced the thermostat and the thermostat gaskets. It needs to be restored. the brake fluid has leaked out. the clutch fluid has leaked out. There is only two small spots of rust in front of the tires. but it is only on the outer panels not the inner structure panels. I think it is from poor prep work when the car was repainted. It was born British Racing Green. then was repainted metallic green . then black. all back in the seventies. The body is strait and complete. The suspension and brakes are complete and appear fine. but it has not been driven since '80 or '81. I have a bunch of old receipts for it from when it was driven by my uncle. I've tried to describe this car as accurately as possible. to avoid confusion about what you are bidding on. This is basically a barn find. Please look at all the pictures attached before bidding. Winning Bidder must pay all money due within 48 hours. Winning Bidder is responsible for any transportation charges. Title and vehicle will not be released until car is paid for. I reserve the right to end this auction early and sell independently and locally.
