Description

Up for auction is a very, ery nice 1974 MGB with4 speed manual transmission ( non-overdrive ). I purchased the car for my wife as a retirement / birthday gift and she loves it dearly but would rather update the kitchen instead of having a car. This car is going to sell this week to the highest bidder so bid to win. I will try to be as clear and conciseabout the cars conditionso all are well informed prior to bidding. If I have left anything out it was not my intention so please feel free to contact with any and all questions you have about the car prior to bidding. Mechanicals:The car runs like a dream and needs nothing what so ever at this time other than to be driven and enjoyed! This was going to be my wifes car so I can assure that she has been completely gone through and needs nothing. The carjust had a complete major service done by a professional mechanic. The service included:new points, ew distributor cap, ew rotor button, ew plugs, ew ignition wires, oil changed, ew oil filter, ew air filters, ew fuel filter, carburetors tuned / balanced, ransmission fluid serviced, ear end fluid serviced and all other fluids toped off. About2000 miles or soago the following work was completed: new exhaust systeminstalled, ew complete clutch kit, new rear brake shoes, ew rear brake cylinders, ew gas tank, ew fuel sending unit and new gas tank filler hoses / neck and gascap. The car starts right up withno issues orsmoke and holds great oil pressure.. The brakes and clutchpeddles are strong and firm. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises from the transmissionor the rear end. I would no hesitate to drive this car anywhere at this time. This is a "turn key" car and needs nothing that I know of at this time. Electrical's:This area is in unbelievable condition. The following items are in proper working order: headlights ( high & low beam) wor, ipers work, front & rearturn signals work, ront & rear running lights work, ide marker lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work, icense plate lights work, ash gauge lights work, dashindicator /warninglights work, courtesy light works and theblower works. Note: The horns do work but not with the after market Moto - Lita steering wheel. Gauges:All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand all of which are in working proper order at this time. Interior: Well it just looks awesome and looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Recent improvements included: new seats, ew high end "Loop" style carpet kit, ew shifter boot, ew chrome shifter retaining ring, ew gear shift knob, ew seat belts, ew Moto - Lita steering wheelandnew MG logo floor mats. Exterior:She looks great inher beautiful Turquoise blue paintand the high end chrome wire wheels makes her look that much nicer. The repaint was done to a very high standard. When repainted everybit of the exterior trim was removed prior to painting and I can assure there is no over spray on any on the chrome bits or gaskets on the car. Many of the outer gaskets, ody seals, oor seals and chromes pieces where replaced at the time of repaint.Idon't think you could replicate this paint job for anything less that $3000 ( probably closer to $4000 -just my opinion). As you can see the body, ood, runk lid and doors are laser straight. The carsitsnicely on the ground with no visible signs sagging or signs of the dreadedMGB " Left Side Leaning"issues. Note: there are 4 maybe 5 small paint chips that can't be seen in the auction photos. There are 2 / 3 on the outer edge of the drivers door, on the lower edge of the passengers door and 1 on the outer edge on the passengers rear wheel arch. I think that covers it and if I missed any it was not my intention. Please feel free to email and I'll send you close up photos ofal the chips.Again, hey are small and don't show up in the photos. Also, the bumpers look nice in the photos but to really set the car off I would spend a couple hundred dollars and have them re-chromed. Wheels / Tires: Yes your correct the car sports thevery high end 60 spoke chrome wire wheels which are in beautiful condition. The set of 4 chrome wire wheels sell for $1500 plus shipping and install alone. The wire wheels are wrapped in high quality Firestone radial tires with like new tread.
Tops / Covers:The soft top and top cover and in like new condition. Sorry no Tonneau cover. Trunk:The truck looks as nice as the rest of the car ( see photos ). Show Ability: In my humble personal opinion I think the car would do well in the British Car Class and in the Peoples Choice Category at local and regional car shows. To improve your award chances I would do the following:spend a day or two detailing the engine compartment, ave the few paintchips professionally touched up ( or do it yourself ) andpossiblyre-chrome the bumpers. All of theseenhancements should greatly improve for chances and winning awards if thats what your looking for. Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/
Overseas Bidders:Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logisticsshipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ). I don't claim to be an expert and my opinion ofthe car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or extra photoslet me knowprior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. The car is being sold"as is" withNo warranties / guarantees expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time
