Description

Up for auction is my Unique and very interesting MGB. I have owned this car for several years and about 2 years ago I decided to go through it and make it stand out from the crowd. I have always liked the MGB factory race cars from the 1960s so I built this MGB to resemble them. This is not a race car, ut a street car with a race car look. The MG has a full interior and overdrive transmission and uprated suspension and drivetrain built for touring. I find it best to describe the car in sections, s listed below.

Body- TheMGhas spent its entire life in California as can be seen by its vintage California blue license plate, o the body is in rust free condition. When I bought the car several years ago I replaced the front foot wells with factory correct replacementsas there was some rust due to the waterpuddling from a bad soft top. Apart from that no other repairs were needed. TheBritish racing greenpaint on the car is about 2 years old and is in excellent condition. There are no dents on the body. The bonnet (hood)isaluminium from an earlier car. I welded in the US spec side lights to give it a pre 1968 look. It also has an early grill and taillights. The front valence is a Sebring style with vents for the under valenceoil cooler and brake ducts. The bonnet has the Le Mans leather strap andfront mounted release. On the rear of the car I removed the overrider and mounteda battery cut off switch in the reverse light hole. The rear bumper is in excellent condition.

Drivetrain - The engine has been rebuilt and has about 800 miles on it.The clutch, tarter motor, lternator, radiator and clutch hydraulics were done at the same time. The car has a crane electronic ignition. The gearbox is an overdrive model and works great (overdrive switch onright side steering column stalk) The engine has a exhaust header and low restriction exhaust and a Dellorto side draught carburetor with a fuel pressure regulator. Theoil cooler has been moved to under the front apron and an electric cooling fan has been added. The engine also has a modern spin on oil filter conversion.

Suspension and brakes - The car has all new brakes including steel braidedflexible brake lines, rilled front rotors and EBC red stuff brake pads, t stops very well! The suspension has new poly bushingsMGBGTfront coil springs and a7/8 high performancefront sway bar.The rear shocks havebeen converted tomodern tube shocks. The wheels are upgraded to 15 inch 72 spokes for greater strength and modern tire choices. The tires areGoodyear Eagles 195/60 15 and are in excellent condition.

Interior - The interior is invery good condition needing no work. The dashboard is new as is the Alpine am/fm CD with Ipod hook up. The cigarette lighter has been replaced with a 12volt outlet. The car also has a 4 point roll bar and 4 point seat belts with a standard buckle.

Top - The MG has two tops, newer soft top and a vintage Snugtop hardtop.

I have restored many British cars over the years, everal to concours standards. This MGB was not done to that level. It is a very nice driver quality car and would place well at local car shows, would rate it as a number 2 car and is probably nicer than 90 percent of the MGBs on the market today. Please look at the photos carefully to see condition or feel free to come and view it or have it inspected. Please call me(Simon@ 559 349 3109) or Email me with any questions before bidding, hanks.
