Description

Up for auction is a my very. very nice 1973 MGB with its original engine. It's a 4 speed with a NON overdrive transmission. I purchased to be used by my wife and have had everything gone through on the car in preparation for her using it on a daily basis. I took the car to the shop and told my mechanic to " do what ever he thinks needs to be done" and he did ( don't try this at home folks !! ). In my opinion he went a bit overboard but I can assure you the car is 100% ready for the road!! Mechanicals: The car runs like a dream! The car was just serviced last week which included: new points. new plugs. new ignition wires. new distributor cap. new rotor button. oil change. new oil filter. New water pump. new upper & lower coolant hoses. new radiator cap. radiator flushed. nbsp;new coolant fluid. new heater control valve. new alternator. new fan belt. nbsp;all fluids topped off. new choke cable and both carburetors ( front and rear ) tuned and balanced. They also replaced the entire exhaust system from the exhaust header to the tail pipe ( sounds great and purrs like a kitten ). Also. last month the car had 4 new high quality radial tires installed and last November the brake master cylinder and front brake pads where replaced. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke. The brakes and clutch peddles are strong and firm. The engine is "drum tight " with no signs of any fluid drips anywhere under the car at this time. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises what so ever from the transmission or the rear end. Electrical's: This area is in unbelievable condition. The following items are in proper working order: headlights ( high & low beam ) work . wipers work. front & rear turn signals work. front & rear running lights work. brake lights work. nbsp;backup lights work. license plate lights work. dash gauge lights work. nbsp;all dash indicator / warning lights work. nbsp;courtesy light works and the blower fan works. Note: the radio is and old AM / FM cassette and needs to be repalced. Gauges: All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand all of which are in working order at this time. Interior: Is in very. very nice condition. I just replaced the sun visors. window winder handles. shifter boot. shifter chrome trim ring and screws. new MG log shifter knob installed. new armrest / center console lid and installed new MG logo rubber floor mats. The seats. dash and door panels look great. Exterior: The car sports a new top and new tires as well as I just replaced the chrome side molding ( all 6 pieces ) and the back up lens and back up light switch. The car sits nicely on the ground with no sagging or any signs of the dreaded MGB "Leaning" issues. As you can see the car is laser straight with no dings or dents but does have a few paint chips that have been touched up. While I'm not an expert I find no evidence of accidents or rust repairs on the exterior of the car. Note: She does look great but still not a show car ( sure looks the part thou ). Soft Top: The soft top is brand new and was professionally fitted and installed 2 months ago. Tops / Covers: The car does come with the high end and highly sought after top cover and Tonneau cover ( covers the full cockpit ). Trunk: The truck is rock solid. The car has a spare tire. wire wheel and its original jack Underbody: The frame and inner sills / rocker panels looks very good but at some point the floors where replaced ( common on these cars and just about any car that's 42 years old ). While I'm not and expert in my opinion the floor repairs where done to a very good standard. Note: I don't have any photos of the underbody at this time but I'll see about getting some and posting then to the auction. Shipping: If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www. ableautotransport. com/ Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes ( http://www. schumachercargo. com/ ). I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or extra photos let me know prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees are expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time.
