Description

Laser straight southern truck with no rust or damage with original factory paint! The ‘Yoda’ has been my daily driver since June 2014 and after an extensive amount of work has only been driven approximately 3000 miles with some trips over 100 miles and lots of city driving – this truck runs perfectly!I'm probably missing something but here’s an overview of the receipts:The motor is the original factory 3. 8 V6 rebuilt from top to bottom - everything has been gone through. Every part has been machined. cleaned or replaced with new gaskets. seals. and rings. The motor has the remainder of a 1 year warranty to June 2015 or 12. 00 miles at a local shop. Babied for the first 500 break-in miles and the fluids changed it should easily run for another 300. 00 miles like these motors do if taken care of. All these parts are NEW (5 and 6/2014) with over $5k in receipts: radiator. A/C unit (dryer and compressor both). heater core. oil pump. sending unit. water pump. filters. heater valves. injectors and seal kit. fan clutch. oxygen sensor. throttle position sensor. EVERY hose and belt replaced with new. distributor cap and rotor. rear main seal. muffler. pipe. and exhaust gaskets along with a timing belt and ignition cylinder. brakes all around. windshield wipers. various turn signal bulbs. and I’m sure I am missing more. Again. the shop was given total freedom to make it right. My plan was to drive this truck (basically a new truck now) for many. many. years. However. family situations happen and a new Jeep has arrived for me to drive. This truck was restored with the instructions to the shop – ‘make it all work as it should because I want to drive this every day and have it work perfectly’ – which is what happened. All the repairs to this vehicle were done by professionals at certified shops – most with warranties. All work has been done with the best parts and by top mechanics and has extensive documentation. Please understand this truck is by no means being represented as a show truck or “totally restored. or without blemishes but I really think you’ll be pleased with this truck’s condition. The early “pre-Tacomas” continue to climb in value and this is a truly fantastic example. The A/C. heat. power windows. radio and CD with remote. power mirrors. cruise control. all work! The dash lights work. the lights in the doors and dome lights light up when the door is open. all headlights. tail lights. turn signal lights. and brake lights work great. even the cigarette lighter works. The sunroof works perfectly and the rear sliding window works as well. In fact I can’t think of anything that doesn’t work on this truck. It also has a new windshield with new lifetime tint on the windows and sunroof panel by a certified glass shop. The tires are BFG All Terrain T/A’s with approximately 3500 miles on them – they are just about new. Suspension – tie rods. bushings. adjusters and linkage. shocks. and coils are all in great shape with many new parts. The truck rides better than my daughters 2010 with no squeaks. rattles. or shakes. If you know what you are looking at you know these trucks can go for between $10. 00 to $15. 00 for the best examples and this one. As I said. this truck was restored to be a perfect daily driver and it is. A few things to note:The paint is original (no repaints!) and therefore 25 years old. It’s white so it looks great but it does have a few rock chips and surface scratches. Also. there was a bug shield installed at some point and the paint on the hood shows where it rubbed some but this is what bug shields are good for but to me it’s perfect for a daily driver. However. the driver-side door has a small “wrinkle” in the top edge of it and I’ve included a picture of it but to me it is superfluous and it works perfectly so I haven’t bothered to fix it. The interior rear seats are perfect and look amazing – of course no one but a small child could sit back there… but they really look great as do the door panels. The front seats have leather seat covers on them. They are in perfect condition with no rips/tears but the original upholstery on the seats are worn. However. the front seats can easily be redone with an upholstery kit something I planned to do but first and foremost I wanted to drive it after it was finished. The factory wheels are of course 25 years old as well but I’ve done my best to polish them by hand and keep them clean but I’m sure they could be made even better. Again. for a daily driver they look pretty amazing. Also – I have the truck insured with “agreed upon value” and had NO problem insuring the truck for $12. 00. It has a clear Arkansas title and also a unique history of some famous military ownership. You will not be disappointed!
