Description

This is the Opel Gt Project you have been looking for!1969 1. 1 Liter with dual carburetors and 4 speed manual transmission. This is one of only about 3. 00 1. 1 Liter cars made and highly collectable (roughly 3% of all GTs were the 1. 1 Liter engine - rare. but easy to get parts for as opel used this engine in there other cars)This vehicle has been stored in a barn for many years. and was driving when parked. I bought it because it has a super straight body and very little rust. I bought a house and the wife says the project has to go. I have done nothing to this car except transport it home and wash the dust off. The story of this baby vette:This car was originally purchased and lived it's early years in sunny southern California. At some point while it was there it was repainted with a second coat of it original Hunter Green. I do not know if this was due to any body damage. but I cannot find signs of repair. I believe the respray was due just to the sun fading the original paint. In late 1983 the car moved to Arkansas where it stayed until 2014. It had been driven in and parked in a garage in the late 1990's. In 2012 the Opel was purchased by an elderly man with the intent to restore it. He removed the Master Brake Cylinder to work on the brakes (included). and shortly after his health failed him. I purchased the car with the intent to restore it in January. but the purchase of a house is forcing me to sell. Again. nbsp;I have done nothing to this car except transport it home and wash the dust off. The Condition of this pocket rocket:I was amazed at how straight. almost rust free. and solid this car is. The door hinges are super tight. easy to open. but showing zero signs of sagging. Heck. when you pull up on the open doors the whole car rocks. not just the door. The front chin or belly pan is the original steel and I saw no significant signs of rust. These cars are prone to rusting out that belly pan and most have been replaced with fiberglas. In fact the little rust I saw on the body was a couple signs of surface rust on the body where the paint had chipped off years ago. but no rust through. There are a few rust holes in the floor that would be really easy to fix. see the pictures. The engine and transmission seem to be complete. intact. and ready to run - I just don't have the time to work on it. When the previous owner removed the brake master cylinder. it appears he cut a couple wires possibly leading to the headlights. but should be a super simple fix. Interior seems to be all there and intact although showing signs of age. The Dash is cracked as well as the drivers seat and steering wheel. probably due to the dry California condition and the sun. The rear deck does have holes where someone has added speakers that have been removed. Included is aged. but new resonator (the original is on the car but rusted out) and what appear to be new fog light lenses. but there are no fog light bodies to be found. The rear side marker lights are included in the car. but not installed. I have no idea why they were pulled out. Headlights operate. but could use lubrication. The paint is a second coat of the original color and shows pretty well except a trailer tire blew out and caused some scratches in the driver's door. but no dents. There seems to be some mud or paint on the front passengers side fender. and a couple places where the paint chipped and rust is showing( but not rusted through). Drivers side front fender corner shows 1 crase where I think it go bumped in the garage or during transport. I would probably say overall it needs a paint job. Mileage showing 11555. but probably 111555 is more realistic. Opel GT comes with a clear Arkansas Title and Affidavit open to transfer to the new owner. Look at the photos and decide for yourself. This will make a great little car for someone. Could be you!I can hold the car for 2 weeks. $1. 00. 00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close - can be by paypal. wire. or cashBalance due at time of delivery. I will work with your car transport company. and will work with foreign shippers. but payment due before car leaves. Please ask any questions. and I will do my best to answer in a timely fashion.
