Description

2004 Volkswagen Golf R32. 82,000 miles, Very Good to Excellent Condition. Brand new complete body restoration. VIN number: WVWKG61J74D131035. Clean Carfax tile.

The car has AWD (All Wheel Drive), six speed manual transmission, PW, PL, Cruise, A/C, Tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear defogger, leather seats, power tilt and sliding sunroof, CD and cassette stereo, remote locking with alarm, Traction Control and ABS brakes.

I bought this very rare (only 5,000 imported to the US) VW "R32" (Racing, 3.2 Litre V6) a few months ago. After one test drive, I had to have this car;I've never drivena car that gave me such an ear-to-ear grin. It's ablast to drive (if you know how to drive a manual transmission, anyway). When I bought the car, there was not only a lot of surface rust, but rust that had perforated many of the body panels. This was going to be a deal breaker for me, however, the VW salesmaninformed me that VW would fix all of the rust, no charge to me,so I bought the car. The car took two months to go through the restoration/transformation. VW paid nearly $11K to restore this vehicle. Every body panel that had rust was replaced and repainted, including both front fenders, both rear quarter panels, and the rear hatch. The doors and hood were OK as is.

What this car needs:

1. If you live in our Northern climate, you definitely will not be able to drive the car as is during the winter months, as the car has dedicated summer-only performance tires that will do nothing but spin in snow. My recommendation is to buy a dedicated set of steel rims and Bridgestone Blizzaks, if you plan on driving in the snow.

2. The passenger door latch was disconnected during the body restoration, so currently you can't open the passenger door from the outside. This will be fixed by our local VW before I release the car.

3. The passenger door outside mirror has turned to a non-reflective black, during the body restoration, so you can't see anything in it. This will also be fixed by our local VW dealer before I release the car.

4. The fuel filler door spring was lost during the body restoration, so currently you can't open the fuel filler door without having a second person to assist you. This will also be fixed by our local VW dealer before I release the car.

5. There are two light scratches in the clear coat paint (see pictures), one door ding (see pics), several light scratches in the front bumper (see pics) and a slight crack in one of the grille bars (see pics).

The Kelly Blue Book for private trade-in value is between $13,603 (Excellent condition) and $12,788 (VG condition). As I mentioned, the door latch, passenger mirror, and fuel door spring will all be fixed before I release the car, which only leaves the issue of the tires, if you live in our Northern climate. Therefore, I believe the car is worth something more than $13,000.00; most likely the car is worth much more than this, due to the $11K spent in the restoration. I'm selling the car only because I need the money for a down payment on a house. Please note that there is no warranty on this car. Also note that a certified check is due within three (3) days of the auction close. PayPalmay be an option; please contact me for information.

Good luck and happy bidding!

Best regards,
Kevin
