Description

Beautiful VW Eurovan camper that has been lovingly enjoyed and maintained over its life – ready for the next owner and the next adventure. I’ve owned this Eurovan for about 4 ½ years and every trip, adventure and experience has been an absolute joy in this vehicle.

Unfortunately my wife and daughter are not as interested in camping as a year ago and most of the trips this summer were solo adventures to the beach with only one night of camping, so reluctantly I’ve decided it’s time make it available for the next owner to continue the journey.

During my ownership I’ve put about 28k miles on it and have kept it in perfect traveling condition. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to hop in this Eurovan tomorrow and drive it to Alaska. I have had it serviced regularly each year I’ve owned it. Some of the items I’ve had replaced: New serpentine belt (2x) with new tensioner pulleys and new water pump, new cv joints, replaced all vacuum hoses and complete tune up with wires, plugs, coil, and all filters, both oxygen sensors, ball joints, tie rod assemblies, exhaust system, water valve, new starter, a set of proper load rated 16” Kumho Ventures mounted on a set of Audi swing wheels (virtually indestructible). I change the oil and filter every 3-4k miles with Mobil 1 and every 3rd oil change I change the transmission fluid and filter. I’ve changed the tranny fluid and filter 3 times since I’ve owned the vehicle. The last time, less than 1k miles ago – tranny shifts accurately and smoothly. I replaced both batteries last year as well as the sink faucet and sprayer off the back and the faucet water pump. I had all of the screens in the pop top replaced this past spring as well as new fasteners for the rear curtain stitched in. I also have the front privacy curtain. I replaced the hydraulic pop-top struts as well as the struts on the counter top. I also replaced the thermostat for the propane furnace and I spent over $1k on a really nice sounding stereo system including replacement of all 6 speakers. The head unit has a USB drive and a remote control (the antenna may need to be replaced as FM reception is pretty poor). I also had a 2” Curt trailer hitch/receiver and wiring installed, although I only used it for a total of about 500 miles to tow a motorcycle. I installed the stainless luggage rack mounting brackets and luggage rack seal from GoWesty.

In addition to the service I’ve had performed I also have all the service records of the previous two owners going back 15 years and 120k miles and totaling over $30k. Included in these service records is a new engine installed around 95k miles. I also have the original service book with service stamps up to about 50k miles so I pretty much have the entire service records for the life of this Eurovan!

This Eurovan drives and rides great, as I mentioned I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere right now. We’ve had a lot of great trips in this versatile camper – it’s perfect for visiting cities or camping for a week on a Lake Superior beach. I’ll truly miss this vehicle but it’s time to let it go.

Everything currently works perfectly with the exception of the washer fluid pump and the indicator panel that shows the level of the fresh water and gray water tanks as well as the propane. I have the replacement parts for both of these items that I will include with the sell, I just haven’t had the time to install these items. I just did a “tune-up” on the propane parts of the refrigerator because it was a little finicky last time I used it on the propane setting. I replaced the igniter, thermocouple and burner. It works perfectly now on all three settings.

When I first purchased this Eurovan the previous owner said it would leak behind the front seats in the rain. I researched this issue and found this is pretty common with these and so I sealed the front rubber inserts in front of the pop top and that fixed it, however I don’t think the previous owner realized that water had made the wood composite flooring soft behind the front seats so I cut out that part of the floor and replaced it with a rubber floor which was cut to fit perfectly in place (see picture). It has custom carpets from Lloyds that are still like new. I will also include the Kelty Carport awning/tent (see picture). I also made a custom mattress that I will include using an Ikea sleeping mat and a layer of memory foam (incredibly comfortable!). I have two keys and all of the manuals including the Winnebago binder with instructions for using all of the camping gear.

The paint is still nice and shiny, there are only a couple spots of very minor surface rust inside the front wheel wells and on the step inside the passenger door (see picture). I always keep this Eurovan clean/detailed and stored in the garage when not in use.

Please feel welcome to email me with any questions. I tried to be as thorough as possible in the description but I’m sure I forgot to mention something someone is wondering about.
