MAICO 1968 MC 250 VINTAGE RARE MX RACER AHRMA

Up for auction is a beautiful Maico that we had the great pleasure of bringing back to life after it had been sitting for many years. This is the first year of the MC Maico MX bike and this particular bike had low hours when I purchased it. but as it sat for many years it needed restoration. The bike starts easily as seen in the video. runs great and is very healthy AND yes it has a loud crack to it coming out the exhaust. the way it was back in the day! Bike shifts nice and smooth. Engine: T272845Frame: MC-250-383041One of the things that really caught our eye when we purchased the bike were the cool period correct upgrades. including rims upgraded to aluminum DID rims; both spin true and have no flat spots there is also a Vintage Circle Fuel Cap. The bars are new vintage MX. A very nice custom made aluminum/kevlar air box that fits the bike like a glove - see the pics. Tank was sealed with Caswell and professionally painted with House of Colors base coat clear coat. New Maico decals also cleared over for longevity. Tank color matched to the new Danny Chanler Magoo fenders. Circle F Racing was kind enough to take the time to custom make a new pipe to match the way it looked back in 1968. An absolutely beautiful job!The seat was professionally redone and there are many new parts on this bike as well including: Pirelli tires and heavy duty tubes. swingarm needle bearing kit to replace old rubber bushings. wheel bearings. fork seals. Maico rubber boots. Magura trap door throttle and Magura grips. Also has the vintage Magura levers with cool adjusters. New cables and of course the Circle F Racing pipe. Aluminum air box. air filter. air box boot. carb intake rubber. new shocks. chains. rear sprocket and Wheel Smith clutch spring. The Bing carb was completely rebuilt with many new Bing parts and set to factory specs and many of the internal parts of the Bing carb were replaced to make the carb like new. All new engines seals and gaskets. new rod kit with bearings. pin and crank pin. In the pictures you can see some weathering on the upper fork tubes between the triple trees. not bad but we wanted to make sure to mention it. The fork tube chrome at the seal area and under the boots are just fine and as expected for a 47 year old machine. Fresh bore on the cylinder to match very nice Mahle piston with new ring. New engine primary chain. fuel tank petcock. Maico NOS shifter and new ignition coil with wire and boot. Engine bore was set to factory specs. A very nice 47 year old machine. Almost to nice to race as it is so rare. but will race very well. Great for a collector. etc. Bike has only test time on it so it will need to be broken in before it is raced using oil mix of 20:1. I do have the original front brake hub and plastic air box that came with the bike. I can include these with the bike if the winner wants them. Please note that the video was taken prior to our changing the aluminum bars with new chrome vintage MX bars and the aftermarket brake stay being replaced with the stock brake stay. The video was taken just this past December and the bike just sat until today when it fired up beautifully for us. Clutch and everything else worked fine. after kicking it I did notice a small bit of oil seepage around the kick start shaft. Nothing major. but I just wanted to make sure and mention it.
