HARLEY DAVIDSON 1948FL PANHEAD ENGINE WITH NORTH CAROLINA TITLE. This is an original 1948FL Engine with a clear, ery old NC Title. The title has an issue date of 1971. This motor has been sitting a long time and the person we got it from knew very little about it. We pulled the top end off to see what was inside and the pistons looked new and were 040 over. The rods felt good but we don't know if the rods and flywheels have been rebuilt. The heads are correct for 1948. It has a 1950-1951 oil pump and cast iron tappet blocks. It has had a professional repair on the left front motor mount. The cam cover is 1952. It still has the early 1948 hydraulic push rods and solid tappets. It has the original 1948 style distributor. The hardware (screws & bolts) are new. The relay boss appears to have been put back on and looks to be a very good job. The cylinders are original HD. There are some broken fins on the cylinders and heads (see pictures). The inside of the cam cover side all looked good. For shipping purposes, ups or Fedex) I can take the top end off and ship in two separate boxes. The lower end box will weigh apx 85 pounds and measures 22" x 22" x 15" and the top end will weigh 75 pounds and measures 23" x 17" x 13".
