Description

WE ARE LISTING THIS 1965 HONDA SPORT 65 FOR SALE FOR ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS. WE ARE AN OREGON AUTOMOBILE DEALER LOCATED IN ENTERPRISE, REGON IN THE NE CORNER OF THE STATE. THIS BIKE HAS NEW TIRES AND SOME NEW RUBBER PARTS AND WHILE THE CURRENT OWNER HAS HAD IT FOR MANY YEARS AND USE TO RIDE IT, T HASN'T BEEN STARTED OR USED FORQUITE SOMETIME. HE DIDN'T BUY IT NEW HOWEVER. IT TURNS OVER EASILY AND ACCORDING TO THE OWNER WILL START AND RUN VERY NICE ONCE YOU CLEAN OUT THE OLD GAS AND MAKE IT READY TO GO. HE RESTORED IT TO IT'S CURRENT CONDITION QUITE A FEW YEARS AGOAND IT LOOKS TO BE A VERY NICE LITTLE HONDA. OREGON DIDN'T REQUIRE A TITLE FOR THESE BIKES SO ALL WE HAVE IS A BILL OF SALE TO GIVE TO THE NEW OWNER. AS WE CHECKED WITH OREGON DMV AND RAN THE VIN NUMBER IT SHOWS NO OREGON HISTORY. THE UNIT WAS LICENSED BACK IN 1969 IN THE STATE OF OREGON BUT AGAIN NO TITLE WAS ISSUED. OUR LOCAL DMV OFFICE TOLD ME THAT IF WE NEEDED A TITLE THEY HAVE A PROCESS TO CREATE AND ISSUE ONE BUT IT IS A COMPLICATED PROCESS AND UNNECESSARY ACCORDING TO OUR REPRESENTATIVEAS A BILL OF SALE WILL SUFFICE FOR AN OWNERSHIP DOCUMENT FOR THIS TYPE AND AGE OF MOTORCYCLE. THE SEAT IS NEW LOOKING AND MOST OF THE CHROME AND ALUMINUM IS ALL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ONCE YOU INSTALL A BATTERY ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL ITEMS WORK AS THEY SHOULD ACCORDING TO THE OWNER. THE OPENING BIDDER WILL OWN THE BIKE AS WE ARE SELLING THIS ITEM AS A NO RESERVE AUCTION OTHER THAN THE OPENING BID! IT HAS A VERY LOW SERIAL NUMBER, N FACTWE ARE ALL SPECULATING ABOUT THIS BIKE.....COULD ITHAVE BEEN AN INTRODUCTION PROTOTYPE OR A MOCK UP ITEM AS HIS, HE OWNERSRESEARCH, HOWED THAT ALL HONDA MOTORCYCLES OF THIS SIZE AND TYPE STARTED WITH A VIN NUMBER INDICATING THEGENERAL PRODUCTION SHOULD HAVE STARTED WITH A 100001 NUMBER AND THIS ONE IS UNDER THAT AT 77057. SO IS THIS A VERY RARE MODEL? PERHAPS ONE OF YOU EBAYERS CAN HELP US DETERMINE WHAT THIS MEANS? WE WILL POST ALL RELEVANT RESPONSES THAT WE RECEIVE REGARDING THE TRUE MANUFACTURES HISTORY OF THIS BIKE. PLEASE EMAIL USOR CALL US AT 541-426-2100. WE ARE MAIN STREET MOTORS AT 311 WEST MAIN IN ENTERPRISE, REGON 97828.

After receiving a telephone call today from a prospective bidder I have a couple more things to add about the motorcycle. The wheels I am sure are original chrome wheels and are in pretty good condition but the front wheel on the rim in one area has three small rusty areasover a space of about 4 inches. The spots are almost just surface rust but one of the areas is also pitted a little bit. The spokes are all good but a few of the adjusting nuts are also slightly brown colored with a touch of surface rust. All of these areas will come clean with a little bit of polishing I am sure. The rear wheel is free of any rusted areas. The rear fender does have a paint run on the left side. The engine IDnumber is a different number than the frame ID number. The engine numberis S65E154353. Theblack plastic on the front forks has a small crack just to the left of the screw holding it in place below the chrome "65" emblem on the front forks. The single key also fits in the front fork lock and operates it. Thanks for the phone call today and having me check out your questions and concerns as well as sharing your knowledge of this bike.
