Description

Stock 1974 CR250M

This is from my personal collection in North Carolina. I have decided to let one of my first year Honda 1974 CR250M’s go. Truthfully I need more space and this has sat long enough in my way next to the pool table in my basement. So for those of you who know me and have asked over the past several years to sell you one, ere is your chance. News will spread quickly about this sale.

I spared no expense on this machine after I luckily found it in an estate sale near Asheboro North Carolina. It was all original, ever raced and belonged to a farm kid who barely used to ride it up and down the road on the farm. These are spirited bikes and I’m sure that it scared him to ride it the way it is intended. The tires told that story and I replaced the originals with nice new ones. They were flat from asphalt wear. Bike always had oil changes and was kept in a climate controlled basement.

I professionally restored this machine to showroom condition. It has not been ridden since restoration. This is an immaculate, istorically important, useum-quality motorcycle. No rust on this. I took it apart and did everything thinking I would just keep it but just goes to show that all things change. I have many hours in this and it now has sat for a minimum of four years looking great. Trust me…no expense was spared or corners cut to make this nice.

This is a museum piece for sure. Original 70mm bore survivor with a new 70mm piston and rings since I took the motor apart totally (I always do) and replaced all seals, earings and gaskets in the process. I carefully honed the cylinder to a mirror finish prior to re-assembly.

This bike was in excellent shape when I began working on it. My goal was to have it perfect again. I succeeded.
