Description

Big bore 450cr Husqvarna motocross bike. I have provided a lot of informationhere so the buyer hasa good idea of what they'regetting. I hope you find it useful.

The bike has been in my garage for over two decades along with many other old Huskys. I have ridden it only recently after doing what I consider to be a moderate restoration. It runs great and has the typical 450 Husky torque. The bike was completely disassembled including the engine, orks, rame, nd wheels before being reassembled into what you now see. Motor received a leak down test. Nuts were torqued as called out in the Husqvarna shop manual for the motor and chassis items like theswing arm, otor mounts, teering head nut, ork tube caps, tc.

The motor is in very good condition with only moderate wear. By the looks of the engine components I don't believe this bike was ever raced and if so it was not raced aggressively.

Cold it starts on the3rd or 4th kick but once its warmed up it will start on the first kick with the aide of a compression release installed inone of the spark plug holes. Once started it idles and revs smoothly like a new Husky indicating the crank is true and the main bearings are tight.

The newfenders are the later style plastic, hich I think look super good. These help keep the sale price reasonable along with leaving the paint onthe tank as is.

New Items Include

Engine seals and gaskets.

Fork seals (two on each side) and new copper sealing washers on the spindle bolts and drain bolts.

Wheel seals front and rear.

Seat cover.

Control cables.

Cawi gas cap.

Uni air filter.

Number plates.

Drive chain.

Pirelli tires front and rear.

NGK B8ES Spark Plug.

Compression release.

Fork and engine oil.

Front and rear fenders.

Kill button.

Magura Grips.

Gas tank rubber mounts.

Kick starter lever rubber sleeve, nd the rubber bumper stop.

Outer engine case screws.

Refurbished Items Include

New frame paint is automotive acrylic enamel.

New Zinc plated items include: bolts, isc springs, teering head races and nut, rake rod, ear shock skirt retainers, xhaust manifold, ork dust cover clamps, ront and rear brake actuating arm, xle nuts, pokes.

New chrome plated items include shock spring skirts, andlebars, poke nipples, hain guide. These items were chrome plated at different intervals over the past 15 years as I built other bikes so there may be age related imperfections in the plating.

Gas tank was de-rusted with Evapo-Rust. Its as clean insideas a new tank.

The Karcoma petcock was rebuilt with a new rubber valve washer and gaskets. The nut was zinc plated. The filter screens are in both the tank and at the fuel hose barb.

The seat was recovered. As seen in the photos the seat panis in nice shape. No rust and the mounts are solid.

Original items worth noting that were typically replaced with aftermarket stuff include the Magura throttle, usqvarna grenade silencer, agura grips, usqvarna handlebars, irling shocks, alanced Akront rims, ing 54 Carburetor 1/36/103, lutch cable with oiler (missing the cap).

Chassis bolts are about 50% original Bufo's.They are on all the motor mounts, riple clamps, hocks, oot pegs, ork drain plugs, ear seat mount, hain adjusters, ear sprocket, nd the front axle clamps.

The piston isafirst overMahle piston 84.42 with a clearance of .007",factory limitis .012". The piston ring gap measures .017", actory limit is .032". Compression is excellent but the compression release makes it easy to kick over.

The clutch plate stack is good measuring 30mm, ell within Husky factory's limitation of 28mm.

After assembly the engine was pressure tested to insure it was free of air leaks. This helps with starting, dling, nd when jetted properly eliminates seizing at wide open throttle.

The stock rear Girling shocks have dampening.

Other Stuff Thats Not Perfect

The exhaust pipe came off another bike. As seen in the photos its been repaired at the rear mount. There are also 2 dents on the bottom as a result of previous kick starter impact. There isn't an issue with the kick starter impacting the exhauston this bike. The pipe looks great when viewed on the bike and functions as it should.

The silencer I purchased online has been welded at the mounting bolt but is structurally sound and free of internal carbon build up.

The seat foam is original and is pretty soft. I weight 190 lbs and when sitting on the seat the foam compresses about 75%.

The Akront rims, pokes, nd nippleswere restored years ago for another 72 Husky project. They have a few blemishes from riding, ounting and dismounting tires as indicated in the photos.

Lastly

The last 2 pictures I have posted are not of this bike. They are examples of the hundreds of weekend warriors who rode and raced not only this Husqvarna model but other models very similar thatare partof years of national championships from around the world. This Husky 450cr is part of a tough, xtremely popular, inning line of motorcycles. Its a worth while investment in fun and dirt bike history.
