Indian 1915 Big Twin 1000cc Hendee Hedstrom F - Head Engine

This is a very nice older restoration 1915 Indian Big Twin 1000cc equipped with the very rare 1st year optioned electriclighting accessories and passenger seat and rack with 3 Speed Transmission.

The 1915 Big twin marked the last Indian motorcycle to carry the original Hedstrom F-Head engine and the cradle-spring rear frame. Many consider this model as the last "real" Indian. This bike is very correct and parts are original to the bike and note the Schleber carb andis equipped with the offered 3-speed transmissionthat was newly offered in1915.

Some minor paint wear and tear as indicated in the photographs, ith excellent nickel plating for the most part. Needs a new front brake cable and a replacement kick start return spring. (the current one still works, ust a little weak) The bike is in running condition with all 3 speeds fully functional as well as the clutch, ear brake and Corbin speedo.

Thismotorcycle now celebrates its 100th birthday and is a stellar example of a very difficult and rare Indian from 1915 with just a few surviving examples.

This Indian motorcycle was the centerpiece at the Brookline, assachusetts Museum of Transportation's special exhibition " Putting America on Wheels"
