Description

Here is a true American barn find. Its a 1948 Indian Chief that still has its old Kentucky license plate on it. It has an extra left side motor case with good 1948 numbers. The frame and case are matching numbers. Rear cylinder has 3 broken fins. but the rest of the cylinder looks great. The front cylinder looks perfect. I was told this has a VERY RARE Indian Police generator on it. It has an Linkert M344 carburetor and bowl. Carb. is missing parts. It has a nice complete distributor and the correct aluminum oil pump. Left side gas tank is rusted out on the bottom and has a very nice replacement tank that comes with it. All the rest of the sheet metal is solid. It has the correct speedometer that is missing the face and lens. Dash and ignition switch look very nice. I can not see any breaks or welds anywhere on this bike. on the frame or motor cases. Very. very nice condition bike for restoration or rat bike rider. Motor will need to be rebuilt. Cam case is empty. Very low matching numbered bike. I can email more pictures upon request. Comes with bill of sale. Bike is for sale locally also so we reserve the right to end the auction early. This is a no reserve auction. Buyer to arrange all shipping and I will help out where I can. This is a once in a life time find. Good luck bidding.
