Description

For saleis a pretty rare 1981 KTM 250 I have had in the collection. I decided to part with it because I had a chance to acquire and equally rare 1981 KTM 495. If you are a KTM fan you already know how hard these bikes are to find in good condition. It has been a collector/display bike while in my possession. The previous owner had the frame and swing arm powder coated and its almost spot on to the factory color. The plastic and decals are new and there is new tank skin on this bike as well so everything matches. Seat cover is new as well. I started working on the spokes with lace luster and they are looking great.I put fresh fuel in the tank and the bike fired right up. If you are buying to trail ride or for your collection the bike would be good as is. If you are planning to race maybe replace rings or rings/piston.

You will need to go through this bike prior to prepare it for racing. The Works performance triple rate shocks were just rebuilt last week and fork seals were replaced right before I got it. I been following KTM's pretty regularly over the past 15 year.I don't recall seeing another one of these modelsfor sale over the past 5 +years. Thisis a very good core bike andwould not take much effort to make it areal show piece. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I would be happy to answer them. I realize this is quite a bit of money (at least itis for me) so I am ok with taking a two or three part payment as long as it does not stretch beyond 3 months.( I will also be listing a few other rare vintage MX bikes soon). Thank you. If you are a KTM fan than this is the bike for you. Carpe Diem!

*** Here is some recent video of the bike. Please Note:the video was taken before the Works performance shocks that are currently on the bike were instslleds://www.youtube.comawatch?v=-9JNviCorHg
