Description

Up for sale is my 1972 Moto Guzzi El Dorado 850. Clean clear AZ title in hand.
Professionally refreshed by Moto Guzzi/Ducati mechanic here in the valley - search ducatiphoenix.com.
Purchased from a gentleman in town who owned the bike for over 25 years. Originally from Chicago, he bike made it's way to the Phoenix area with the previous owner relocated in the early 80's. Been here in Arizona, idden periodically and stored in-doors for the last 25 years. Cosmetic restoration and overall mechanic restoration work was done approximately 10 years ago, ith new paint being andengine refurb work being performed at that time. Restoration appears more recent to me, couldn't tell it was a 10 year old paint job when I purchased it, nd I have purchased over 40 bikes.
According to previous seller, ho was the second owner, iles are original. I cannot confirm but believe to be accurate based on condition and reliability. 19,171 miles on odometer.
Matching numbers bike. All is stock except the aftermarket pipes. Single sided, ual leading shoe front brake,5 speed transmission. This bike has the earlier differential without the deep sump which I understandoccurred during the initial builds, result of what was on the shelf at the time of assembly.
I purchasedthe bike in June of 2013 and had the following completed:
  • Clean and adjusted front and rear brakes
  • New battery, leaned starter relay and starter connections
  • Lube of all cables, hrottle and choke
  • Adjusted valve lash
  • Cleaning of both carbs
  • Replaced all oils (engine, ransmission, ear drive oils, leaned oil filter, eplace sump pan gasket
  • Replaced generator belt and adjustment
  • Set engine timing
  • Replaced fuel lines
  • Removed previous tank liner and re-applied better product
  • New tires, ubes, heel straps, ounted and balanced (Continental Tires)
In June of this year:
  • New battery
  • All fluids replaced
  • General inspection and 'ready ride'
  • Tires have approximately 400 miles
I took the bike to Park City, T in July and enjoyed riding in the mountains. Rode from Park City to Cheyenne, Y on both backroad mountain passes and freeways. Absolutely no issues and was a memorable ride. Was incredibly fun and did great in the high altitudes - no adjustments needed.
I'm a collector and thinning out my collection, ut do not need to sell. This has been my riding bike for the last few years, lthough I have 4 kids and job so it doesn't get ridden as I would like. Rides great, ulls well, nd according to all who have ridding multiple Eldos, rakes the best they have experienced. No leaks, hifts smooth, nd is to me a piece of rolling art.
For your consideration:
  • The lights, orn, rake and dashboard lights function correctly.
  • Chrome rear handle bars for passenger rider are pitted and should be re-chromed.
  • Slight bubble near the gas tank filler cap, nfortunately a slight bubble as result of the new tank liner process. Not chipping/peeling (see photos, ardlynoticeable).
  • I had an estimate on the rechoming of the handles for the rear passenger for $150.00. Just never got to it.
Youwon't bedisappointed. It's ride ready and needs nothing to get out and have a great, ead turning, eliable, lassic bike.
Good luck with the bidding. I will not divulge my reserve price but it's very fair. Anyone with under 10 feedbacks will need to contact me before bidding or their bid will be cancelled.
No warranties of any sort, xpressed or implied. I am happy to help with shipping, o be arranged completely by buyer.
Thank you and good luck!
