1984 Yamaha FJ600 in Great Shape! XJ600

Runs and looks great. Very rare, ll original bike…very collectable. In the US for only 2 years. The appearance is really stunning.

This original bike was a "family" bike. The two previous owners were family members. It was sitting in their garage for many years. I bought it for my son. He put about 200 miles on the bike and is now interested in other things so we're selling it. It has 19,900 miles, ut could go up slightly.

I did the following to the bike.

· Professional carburetor rebuild

· New jets

· Tank flush

· New fuel lines

· Brake fluid flushed

· New rear brake pads

· Changes engine oil and filter

· New chain and sprockets

The bike now runs fantastic. Starts right up, dles sooths, reat power with no hesitations. Motor feels strong with no smoking or oil usage. The transmission shifts smooth in all 6 gears. All electrical stuff works perfectly. Rides great…single rear shock has a cool belt driven adjuster, pgraded Lockhart Quick Adjusters in the front. Tires are in good shape. Mirrors and turn signals are not original. This bike runs perfectly and is a good everyday driver.

This was a high-tech bike in the 80's with many nice features. This was not a low cost entry bike. It was a serious sport touring machine and the first 600cc bike. Great reviews from back in the day. This bike is a great example with rare factory red rims…they look awesome!

The only noteworthy cosmetic issue is a dent in the right side of the gas tank. Some scratches on the exhaust pipes and lower chin fairing has been repaired. The paint shows some normal signs of age. See picture for complete details. The bike is cold natured but that was typical for back in the day (Cycle World test report confirms). Takes about 3 minutes to warm up.
