Description

Rare restored 1959 Triumph TR10 Estate wagon. The original rust free California TR10 body was mounted on a 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500 frame. including the complete engine. drivetrain. suspension. rakes. teering and front bucket seats. This has the car the best of both vehicles. the classic looks of the TR10 and the performance. andling and ease of driving of the more modern Spitfire. It includes the locking steering column and steering wheel of the Spitfire as well as the column switches. The transmission is the spitfire 4 speed with overdrive. nbsp;which makes highway driving great with low rpms. The Spitfire frame was shortened about 8 inches to fit the shorter TR10. The car starts right up. drives great and needs nothing. It has almost new tires mounted on Panasport-like 13 inch alloy wheels. The Mileage is not accurate because the odometer was changed during the restoration. The interior is all custom to match the exterior two-toned blue and black paint. The paint colors and scheme was chosen to match a 2006 mini cooper. I used the car as a Beach/Surf Wagon or to haul my bike to the mountains or local trails. It was a hit wherever i parked it both at local shows or at the beach. I have owned the car for about one year. and it has been great. I bought the car here in california from the owner who did the restoration. I am selling it to make space for other Triumph restoration projects. On Feb-22-15 at 16:38:09 PST. seller added the following information:The person I bought the car from just read my listing and informed me that the Spitfire frame was in fact lengthened by about 3 and 1/2 inches not shortened as i stated above. Sorry about that misinformation. The drive shaft was also lengthened as well.
