Description

Having had a Cushman Springer when I was a boy. I knew what I was looking at when my friend was showing me fun stuff from his Dad's estate. After about three years of discussion. my friend wanted me to buy it from his Mom. I did. and last week I cleaned the carburetor. changed to synthetic oil. trans fluid. put in fresh gas and the next thing I knew. I was flying down the street like a 12 year old I once knew. In my best estimation. this Cushman was taken down to the frame many years ago for a reasonable restoration and then stored in the garage ever since. My guess is that the frame was prepped and repainted with black satin finish paint and the sheet metal was also prepped and painted green inside and out. The handlebars do have pitting in the chrome as can be seen in the pictures. The M9 (3. 0" bore) engine appears to have been rebuilt by a knowledgeable mechanic. I say that because the exposed head gasket indicates that the head has been milled to bring up the compression. and it has GREAT compression. The carburetor appears to have been replaced with a new Tillotson unit when the engine was rebuilt. It runs great!I am also including a spare luggage rack from an Eagle model. as well as a new copy of "How To Rebuild The Cushman Cast Iron Engine by Jim Frederick. I'm a nut for manuals. so I buy one whenever I get something. Many of the pictures are of the bike with the "barn dust"still on it. As I found it. Others are after I wiped it down with a wet towel only. This Super Eagle is a blank canvas. It is in great. all round condition and ready for your expression of "Old School" rolling art. What do you want to create. a show/parade queen. a mini Indian (Papoose) or a "Halfway Harley"? How about a $7. 00. 00 super bike? Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements.
