Rare 1944 Cushman Model 53 Airborne Scooter Military vintage

I am listing this for my friend who is not an ebay seller. he wrote... "Up for auction is a 1944 Model 53 Cushman Airborne scooter ser # 34485. DOM#11/23/1944. This scooter has been owned by a Cushman Club of America member for 30 yrs. It is an amateur restoration that has been in dry storage for over 25 yrs since restoration. This scooter has very low hours running time. Kick start pedal pad shows very little wear. Usually these are worn smooth on civilian models. While restoring engine, t initially had excellent compression. Just removed the oil pan, leaned crankcase, hecked oil pump and reassembled. Didn’t need to remove cylinder head. Believed to be std bore. Internal parts looked in new condition inside crankcase. Mechanically in very good condition. Fresh tune up (points, ondenser and carb rebuild kit) have been done since storage. There is some rust damage and pitting on the frame. Mainly front left frame rail and floorboard. The left running board was replaced with a new piece of metal, verything sandblasted, rimed and painted. This scooter does have the original data plate showing serial number and DOM with matching serial number stamped in frame. It has the original air cleaner assembly which is very scarce and expensive. The tires and seat slipcover are not the original type. Only 4734 of these machines were built. This is a rare piece of U.S. military history that is lucky to have survived all these years.
