1971 Norton Commando Fastback Long Range

For Sale: 1971 Norton Commando Fastback Long Range.
Estimated that less than 400 Commandos were configured with the metal Long Range tank.

This bike is the same configuration as the bike featured on "Classic Bike" magazine Nov 1990. See pics. Original equipment: METAL Norton gas tank (same as found on earlier Atlas model), wide front fender, mal carbs
Safety and convenience items: inline oil filter (6" cartridges), 21 t sprocket gear on the drive, andlebar mirrors, oyer electronic ignition...Vehicle ID is 20M3S 152752, atching numbers, lease see pics.
Sold on a clean NJ title

Mileage: 4109 (no assurances but titled accordingly)

I've owned the bike since summer 2010.When I purchased the bike, had a head to tail inspection done by John Stephens http://www.cyclecraftmotorcycles.com in NJ, the bike has been serviced annually there.
I wanted a trouble-free, AFE 1 kick bike...so I did the following after purchase based upon inspection: new fork tubes with seals, eneral carbs tuning, ew fr brake kit and custom cable, ew 2nd gear, ew ISO mounts, ew pistons and rings, ew handlebar mirrors,
In 2011 I had 2 new Avon 410 tires installed, ew throttle cables, nd anti wet sump internal modification done...I ride this bike weekly in-season on a thirty mile joy ride in Kinnelon/Tarrytown NJ...dependable, ight...just right.

The bike is NOT councours. It is a dependable, afe, xcellent vintage Commando, meant to be ridden, ith a rare LR gas tank and great fastback looks.

Not working, eeds repair:
--speedo stuck at 50mph, iagnosed at the speedo drive itself--it's not the cable (that was replaced)
--headlight intermittent inoperable

Could be replaced:
--exhaust, unctional and good sound but looks tatty

I will happily allow a complete in-person inspection, PPI by a professional mechanic, nd I will assist with shipping from 07005. Happy to take additional pictures as requested. It's a great bike, n it's sweetspot.
