2000 Acura Integra Type R
Flamenco Black Pearl
No Rust, lean Title, 6k Original Miles, 00% stock exterior and interior with minimal mechanical modifications
NO RESERVE!!! Rare 2000 Integra Type R in Flamenco Black Pearl that I purchased off eBay three weeks ago. Unfortunately for me, am losing a climate controlled garage space and do not want to risk storing this appreciating modern classic in a multi-tenant garage in the city, o the new toy must go. For those that aren’t familiar with the Type R, t has been widely hailed as the “greatest front wheel drive car ever,” and EVO Magazine in the UK rates it above legends such as the E30 M3, 46 M3 CSL, he NSX Type R, nd even the Porsche 911 2.7RS on its list of the greatest drivers’ cars of all time. Having owned several Porsches, orvettes, MW M- and Audi RS cars, wholeheartedly agree that on a winding back road this particular example is a truly exceptional automobile. The ride and handling mix is just about perfect, he responses from the lightweight chassis are razor sharp, nd the wail of the engine as it climbs above 8000 rpm is spectacular. It will make you wish for the days before everyone larded up their cars with heavy safety equipment and switched to low revving turbos. I think the closest overall comparison is the E30 M3, ut for a fraction of the cost to purchase and maintain.
Anyway, believe that the previous owner described this car pretty accurately, o I will include his description and a link to the prior listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acura-Integra-Type-R-Hatchback-3-Door-/281736518941?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4198ce1d1d&item=281736518941
Please read through it carefully, ut I will give you my impressions from two weeks of ownership:
Mechanically, his car is in excellent condition with all of the potentially expensive wear items – clutch, earbox synchos, iming belt, ater pump, alve adjustment, ew Koni adjustable shocks, oll bar bushings, tc. taken care of within the last year and a half according to the previous owner. After picking it up in Tampa, he brake pedal pad broke (typical for Hondas at this age) which caused the brake lights to stay on, o I dropped it off at Hendrick Honda in Daytona to repair and spare no expense in going through the car. They gave it a clean bill of health with only a suggestion that the rubber boots on the CV joints were aging and starting to crack. I also had them put in brand new OEM Honda engine and transmission mounts (a $1400 job!) because the race mounts installed by the previous owner resulted in what I felt was excessive vibration. Now you can enjoy the pure sound of 8500 rpm without any rattles or buzzes from the interior trim or blurry mirrors. I will include the hard mounts for those who prefer that raw racecar feel, ut I do not recommend installing them. I will also include the original shocks and a fitted Type R car cover from the previous owner.
I just drove it 1000 miles from Daytona to Philadelphia with no issues, nd I recently took it on a few back roads to explore its limits. The car drives wonderfully and feels very robust, ut if I were keeping it I would address two issues. Under hard braking, here is some pedal judder that I believe is from a warped rotor. Tire Rack has genuine Brembo replacement rotors for $45, ut I leave that to the new owner who may wish to upgrade to slotted or drilled rotors that would be a perfect match with the excellent Hawk HPS pads installed by the previous owner. Hendrick also noted that although the tires have plenty of tread, hey appear out of balance. The tires are all-season and not of the highest quality, o if I were keeping the car I would switch to summer performance tires like Dunlop Star Specs.
Cosmetically, think the previous owner was accurate in describing the repaint and the interior as good. Again, am picky, o if I were keeping it there are a few minor imperfections I would address. There is the area on the driver’s side rear fender just below the window with some small white-ish specks that he included in his description and in one of the photos. They are noticeable up close, ut a place like Carsmetics could probably take care of it without much issue. Although it does not come through in the photos, also think the paint on the window trim shows some wear and could use refreshing as it definitely looks older than the rest of the bodywork. Inside, here are three small tears in the vinyl headliner (the largest one is a semicircle a bit smaller than a dime) that an upholstery shop could address.
I hope I haven’t scared everyone off, ut I am an enthusiast and want to be as accurate as possible. This car is absolutely ready to drive and enjoy as is. But given how they have been appreciating and the recent positive press in which they have beaten many heralded new performance cars like the BRZ in direct comparison tests, think it would be a shame not to bring it fully back to showroom glory.
I would not hesitate to drive this car across country (provided I could dig up enough CDs since it still has the original pristine stereo that predates aux input jacks), o if you want to fly in I can pick you up at the airport. Or I can work with whoever you choose as a shipping company to arrange for pickup.
$1000 deposit due within 48 hours, ith the balance to be paid in full by wire transfer within 7 days. Buyer makes arrangements and pays for pickup or shipping. Contact me with any questions, nd best of luck bidding!
Please have your finances in order before bidding on the car!
Serious buyer only. Do not place a bid if you do not have sufficient funds on hand. Buyer will be responsible for all transportation and shipping cost or you could fly into a Philadelphia area airport and I could pick you up and you could drive the car home. Payment must be clear before release of the vehicle. Additional pictures upon request. I am selling the car AS IS. Clean PA title.
Here is the prior owner’s description from earlier this month:
2000 FBP Integra Type R with a clean title No Rust. Unfortunately tho it has come time to sell the car. 2 reasons for selling 1 being my wife and I are expecting our first child and secondly I have no time to enjoy the car between work and my other project. I've put close to 1,000 miles on the car in 2.5 years of ownership. All mechanical work has been performed by a Honda Master tech. Car is stored under a cover in a climate controlled garage. The car was repainted about 8 years ago. The previous owner stated the roof, ood and trunk all had paint peeling which was the reason for the repaint.
Paint Good condition (repaint about 8 years ago) few small rock chips on front bumper and also small spots on the drivers side near the side window which are the size of a pen tip.
Original B18C5 as well as the LSD trans both have the vin plates on them!
Interior and exterior 100% stock with OEM fog lights added, ll lights, locks, windows, switches, etc work 100% flawlessly!
