It's time to part company with my Alfetta. I got the car from my brother in 1978 and originally titled in in 1979. He bought the car from Precision Motors in Dallas as a demo with about 12,000 miles on it. I drove this car for a little over a year while in school in Missouri. I moved to Dallas and to Dallas and drove the car daily until 1982. It then became a weekend driver and that is why the mileage is so low. The car was kept either under covered parking or a garage. I moved to Denver in 1996 and it has been garage kept since then.
The interior is original to the car with theexceptionof a couple of panels on the driver's seat. The red seat inserts were typical of the time period. These were typically installed at the port of entry by the distributor. Most of the paint is factory original. The front and driver's side fender were repainted in 1978 because my brother had a fender bender. The paint is lacquor and that's why it doesn't match. While in collage, had the car towed twice. Each time, he exhaust damaged the body below the rear bumper. So, here is a minor amount of bondo and non-original paint. I purchased and installed (no quite finished) European stainless bumpers a number of years ago. The original bumpers will come with the car.
As Alfettas go, his is a rust free car. There is a bit of rust around the rear window. In one place it has perforated the sheet metal. None of the rust has changed since the car was brought to Denver. A number of years ago, lfa West installed 2 litre European cams and advanced the timing 5 degrees. The exhaust manifold ad down pipes have been replaced with one from a later Alfetta sedan (the original will be included. It has made the car a bit more peppy. I have the original steel wheels, hich will be included. The aftermarket wheels have very old Michlen X tires. The tires need to be replaced for the car to be safely driven on the highway. The car currently has Colorado Collector Vehicle tags.
I have a huge stash of parts that go with the car. They include a set of disc rotors, nough drive shaft donuts and center carrier for two rebuilds, sed cylinder head, sed tranny, ew clutch, ow mileage used clutch, oses, otor mounts, aps and rotors, sed half shafts, ome used suspension components, rilles...... There are far too many parts to list. I've stock piled parts over the years so as to reduce the down time. There's nothing better than having the replacement part on the shelf. I will not sell orseparateany of the parts. The car and the parts go together.
