This 1967 Alfa Romeo Roundtail Spider ("Duetto") has had 3 previous owners; delivered new to its first owner in North Carolina, he then sold it to a gentleman in Charlotte, C, e then sold it to its last previous owner in Palo Alto, alifornia. The car is in excellent condition, omewhere between a #1 and a #2 condition; not quite Pebble Beach quality, ut an extremely nice older restoration that still shows very well. According to the extensive service records that come with the car, he body was stripped to bare metal and resprayed, earing proper Alfa Romeo Carmine Red. This was done approximately 22 years ago, lthough you wouldn't know it, he paint still looks fantastic. Its been driven, o it does have a few very small blemishes, s I've tried to show in the photos. There is a tiny ding on the passenger side rear quarter panel, nd a couple of very small blisters at the lower fenders on each side. Certainly nothing to be concerned about given the solid nature of the underside of the car. Look at the photos provided; the underside of the car is very clean, t's not completely covered in "rust-proofing" as many are in order to hide sins, oop or debris, nd the rockers are solid, ith no evidence of repair. The frame is solid, nd the rear end section is not twisted as many are, rom previous rear-enders. There is no evidence that this car was ever hit. There is no rust/rot anywhere....owing to its mild-weather climates that its been fortunate to reside in. Again, ook at the photos.
The records also show that the original engine was replaced with a more powerful and VERY desirable upgraded 1750cc engine from 1969. These engines are virtually bullet-proof and THE one to have if you prefer spirited driving. And driven this car is; its not a garage queen that will require every rubber component and bushing replaced...its a car that's been driven regularly, acking up 129,500 miles (and counting!). Records indicate that the transmission was replaced/rebuilt, ew clutch, ew brakes, ew suspension components, ebuilt steering box, all joints, ew tires, ew convertible top, ew battery, nd the list goes on and on. A lot of money has been spent on this car to keep it running like a top and reliably. It needs nothing, ust jump in, lip the top down and enjoy the twisty roads ahead! Wheels were upgraded to very cool and sporty Panasports, eat belts are Simpson road race style.....with all of the upgrades, his car is basically ready to be driven anywhere, ven to the track and enjoyed on track-day events! We don't have the original wheels, ut we do have 2 sets of spare hubcaps which come with the car, s well as the convertible top canvas boot to keep it looking new.
The body is very clean and straight, ll gaps are proper and uniform. Everything works as it should, ncluding the distinctive Italian dual-octave sound of the air horns! It starts easily, oes not smoke or make any unusual noises, he 5-speed transmission shifts very smoothly and it stops great. All glass is crystal clear, ncluding the convertible top rear window.
We had our specialty car expert give it a PPI, nd he gave it a clean bill of health. He is available to chat if you'd like to verify this. Just get in touch with me through eBay and I will gladly give you his name and contact info.
Anyway, ook at the photos, hich tell an honest story of the condition of this wonderful car. I encourage you to come see the car yourself, ou will not be disappointed! Call me at (917) 952-1680 to make arrangements to see it. It's located in my garage at home in a picturesque part of northern Westchester County, love any excuse to drive it, o call me!
Clear California title in hand. Additional photos of the car can be seen on my website: emotionmotorclassics
