This AMX is an exceptional car. A garage find with 93. 18 original miles on the clock it has only been driven slightly more than 2. 00 miles per year. A California Black Plate car it is in exceptionally good original condition. showing only a little rust underneath the back window where they all do that. This is a lifelong California car. The original owner purchased this car and when he could no longer drive gave it to his daughter. We acquired the car from her. This AMX comes with the 290 4-barrel V8 original engine mated to the original Shift Command three-speed automatic transmission that moves through the gears effortlessly. After dusting the AMX off and checking all of the fluids. we filled it with gas and drove it 80 miles on the highway to get it home. Lights and turn signals work. The brakes are great. The car runs straight and true and has been well maintained. After getting the AMX home. we rebuilt the carburator. rebuilt the transmission. replaced the radiator. replaced all of the fluids and filters. charged the AC. changed out the brake lines. installed a new kick-down switch. cleaned it up. replaced the fuel pump. and redid the driver's seat. In other words. all of the hard stuff. The tires have great tread. This AMX is equipped with air conditioning that blows cold. All glass is original. The AMX does have a power antenna that goes up and down. it is connected to the original AM radio. This is a very original car. The passenger’s seat looks to have been very rarely used. The driver’s seat. has been reupholstered in the original seat material. The dash has one slight crack above the glove box. From what the owner told us and what we can see. this AMX has always been garaged. The ashtray indicates that this car was never smoked in.
