Car is sure to impress any car enthusiast and turns heads like crazy. This car is a T1 survivor. 100% bone stock and almost all original. It was set to roll the red carpet at Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction at Mohegan Sun but I somehow got wrapped in with Ebay and had two buyers win the bid on this and then give me excuses why they couldn't pay right away, it was a mess to no fault of mine or the car, anyway it made us miss the auction. So now is your chance to buy a car that was going to go to the world famous auction foreBaypricing!
This excellent condition survivor has had only two owners in its life and both were avid carenthusiasts. Entered into and won best of show over a dozen times, this car has only been driven on sunny days for the last 48 years or sat in thegarage, under a car cover! It was truly babied and is completely original besides the paint and upholstery. There is not a single spec of rust on the entire vehicle besides slightbubbling over the wheel wells but its just surface and barely even visible unless you know its there. You could almost eat off the engine compartment.
This car was one of only 484 AMC AMX's made with the stout 290cid V8 which pushes out a respectable 225 horse power for this small coupe. The throttle is still extremely responsive with zero lag and plenty of power and begs to have the driver mash down hard on the accelerator to feel the tremendous power this car / engine combination offers. Truly a muscle car of muscle cars. American Motors historians speculate to this being one of only 70, 1968 1/2 AMX's with the 290 cid paired to the automatic transmissionthat still remain.
Brakes are strong, motor is solid, tranny shifts without issue, no leaks, no tears, no dents, nobondo, car was undercoated years back and extremely cleanunderneath. Tires are perfect, rims are perfect.
