Carfax:
Carfax shows an accident back on 11/1/2014. I will describe that in detail below and answer any additional questions you may have to help put you at ease.
It was the day after Halloween and my son and I went to run some errands and get lunch. We pulled out of the restaurant parking lot onto the road where we were then sitting idle waiting at the stop light. A lady in a white SUV had just picked up her son from football practice, pproached from behind, aw the light turn green (but wasn’t completely paying attention), nd let off her brake before myself and the others in front of me had started to go. She hit me from behind and pushed me into the car in front of me. I have included a pic of the rear bumper from the incident so you can see this was a minor impact. You’ll see the white paint from her car but the bumper itself wasn’t even cracked. It was still replaced with new OEM. The clutch cable was also dislodged and was replaced with new. Carfax has reported the incident as “moderate” because more than 2 vehicles were involved. I have been driving the car ever since without any issues whatsoever. Again, he car was repaired like new with OEM parts and other than it being on Carfax you would never know.
Summary:
This is a great opportunity to own a hand-crafted, uxury exotic that looks like new, ut costs less than 50%. Includes highly sought after upgrades that you don’t have to go out and pay for yourself. Clear title in-hand, omes with 2 keys, eather bound owner’s manual, nd records. More pics available upon request. Pre-Purchase Inspection welcomed (at buyer’s expense). You won’t be disappointed!
My Original Purchase Experience:
Those questions I mentioned in the beginning about looking for something SPECIAL? I had those same ones when I originally went looking for my next car over 3 years ago. I looked at and drove most everything under $100k and nothing seemed SPECIAL until I drove the Aston Martin Vantage V8. The styling, ound, erformance, uality of materials, ttention to detail, nd overall fit and finish are like none other. It absolutely feels hand-crafted vs. all of the other mass produced Porsches, MWs, ercedes and the like. I wasn’t looking for every piece of technology that manufacturers are now cramming into their cars. I wanted a driver’s car. One that was a true 6-Speed manual vs. all of the sportshift /paddle shifter cars you now see. Perhaps the paddle shifters are a bit quicker through the gears overall, ut I wasn’t looking for a track car or the fastest 0-60. Many of the sportshift transmissions are also very clunky in their feel around town and often have maintenance issues. I wanted a true 6-Speed manual where I felt more connected to the overall driving experience. And one that was naturally aspirated where you didn’t have to wind up the RPMs in order to get the performance like you do with turbo-charged cars. And believe me, his 4.3L V8 with 380hp is plenty. After doing my research and driving dozens of cars I knew I wanted the Aston Martin Vantage V8.
That led to a year-long search and trips to several cities and states before I found mine. My budget had me looking for a 2006-2008 model Vantage coupe with a 6-Speed manual transmission. For those of you who have been looking around at the Aston Martin Vantage you already know that the 2006-2008 models are all very much the same. All have a 4.3L V8 and the same exterior styling. [It was in 2009 that the Vantage moved up to a 4.7L engine along with some other interior console styling changes as well as integrated antenna.]
One of the few (if not only) differences in the early model 2006’s from 2007-2008 are the seats. If you search, ou’ll notice that 90%+ of the 2006’s you find have a funkier looking, ulti-piece, ften multi-colored seat that I quite frankly didn’t like the styling of or feel was very comfortable. Apparently Aston Martin felt the same way, s the later model 2006’s changed to the seat design that was used for several years after. [Mine is a June 2006 build and has this updated seat design.]
What color to choose? I looked at all of the various color combinations available and determined I wanted black on black. I then found that the black leather seats were available with black, ilver, r red contrast stitching options. I really liked the silver, s black was too little and red was too much for me. Brake caliper color was also an available option with the most common being black, ilver, r red. That was a no-brainer for me as I absolutely loved the red brake calipers. To me, oth the black and silver calipers just blend in too much with the wheels.
Now the mileage. Do I want a garage queen with crazy low miles and hardly been driven or one with low miles, ut enough to know that any key issues have already been addressed and has continued to be maintained? After reviewing various Aston Martin forums such as 6SpeedOnline (http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/aston-martin-39/), t became apparent to me that I would be better served in finding one that had been driven and maintained so I looked for one with between 15k and 35k miles. Mine had 24k miles when I bought it.
Now knowing exactly what I was looking for I went on my search. I travel a lot with my job so I visited several cities and states and inspected over 15 Vantages before purchasing mine. Mine had no dents or dings on the exterior, o scuffs and scrapes you’ll usually see on the seats and interior door panels, r any other typical issues you may encounter. It had a small pull on the front of the leather dash (again, ery common) which I had fixed with my purchase. It drove flawlessly. I had a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) performed at Aston Martin Cleveland Ohio and the only issue they identified was a faulty thermostat, hich I also had replaced with my purchase along with a full maintenance performed. I have the corresponding paperwork for both PPI and services.
The car was then prepped and shipped down to me in Atlanta and I have been enjoying it ever since. No regrets.
