2005 ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH S
--Tungsten Silver with All Iron Ore leather and Grey carpets edged Iron Ore, 4,000 miles from new, 6-speed automatic gearbox controlled through F1 style twin paddles mounted on the steering column.
Factory options include: 2+2 Seating, Red brake calipers, Heated front seats, Homelink, Rear Parking Distance Sensors, Heated Front Screen, Front Stone Guards, Satellite Navigation, Fire Extinguisher, Power Park Mirrors and Motorola V60’s.
Introduced in Autumn of 2004, the Vanquish “S” is the fastest road going Aston Martin ever! It was without a doubt the current flagship of the Aston Martin range. The power output is from a 6.0 liter, fuel injected, dual overhead camshaft, V-12 engine producing 520 bhp @ 6500 rpm and 425 lb. ft. of torque @ 5000 rpm. Performance is 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph.
Exterior changes from the previous Vanquish model include a splitter at the front to improve aerodynamic stability, a more rounded and open grille for better cooling and a redesigned boot lid to give better downforce. The suspension, brakes and steering come from the Sport Dynamic package as standard this previously offered only as an option.
The Vanquish is the last hand built Aston Martin and arguably the best Aston Martin produced in the company’s history and certainly from the Newport Pagnell era prior to closing the factory at the end of its production. That said, its only weak link has been its original paddle shift-electronic clutch and constant replacement of clutch and failing electronics-ASM unit as well as various other electronic parts that have plagued the model since the models inception. These parts, even when replaced, continue to fail due to the poor original factory design. This requires repeated costly monetary expenditures without a long term cure…..until now!
Just as Aston Martin went to the 6-speed Automatic gearbox for the DB9 as well as other models, we have done the same for this Vanquish S. The original gearbox has been removed and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox fitted. The car functions and operates with the paddles and shifts exactly as before, but with far more precise shifting capability. It is “plug and play” and does not change anything visually. It even retains the throttle blip on the downshift! The end result is a Vanquish as the factory had intended with more power to wheels then you have ever experienced in a Vanquish before! The cost, approximately $35,000.00 and this has been completed within the last 500 miles.
This Vanquish S has been enthusiast owned and cared for and coveted from new and complete with all books, tools and records from new.
