Overview I am selling my family's BMW 3. 18 ti. I inherited the car from my parents who were the vehicle's second owners. They purchased it in 2008 with 53. 00 miles from the first owner in Texas. and transferred the car's title to me September 2014. The car is solid -- it runs great. has been well taken care of over the years. and has a lot of life left in it. which I'm not sure could be said of many 19-year-old cars with 186k miles. I am selling the car because 1) I am moving to the East Coast for work and do not have time to drive the car across the States; 2) my parents live on the East Coast already and do not need the car; and 3) the price to ship the car is roughly equivalent to its current market value. From 2008 to 2014 my mom was the car's primary driver. She is a travel nurse and used the car to move around the US for various nursing stints. Nearly all the miles accumulated during that time (100k+) were highway miles. The car did not see regular city use until I brought it to Seattle for work last September. I use the car as a commuter. Preventative maintenance (2008-2015) Car serviced only at BMW or BMW-approved shopsOil changed every 3-5k milesClutch replaced (2010)New brakes and rotors (2011)x2 new tires (2013) Repairs (2008-2015) Alternator (blew out during an ice storm while the wipers. lights. defroster. heater. etc. were all in use. The original alternator just couldn't handle it. )Radiator (cracked radiator while on a road trip so we had it replaced)Front thrust rod bushings and rubber mount replaced * I have the service receipts from the tires. alternator. clutch. radiator. and rotors and brakes. Known issues/ Upcoming Repairs Needed MaintenanceNew owner will need to replace the rear two tires by late this year. or early next year. MechanicalThere is occasional ticking from under the hood. It ticks for about 10-15 minutes while the car warms up and then goes away. The ticking does not occur every time you drive it and has no effect on the car's running or performance. Passenger door keyhole is obstructed and does not workHatchback door lock is sticky (but does work)CosmeticAntenna ripped out (see pic #7). For the cost of having the antenna replaced. we've considered taking the car to a body shop to fill the hole and then setting up an internal antenna. Currently I use a USB to connect my phone to the radio to listen to music. news. podcasts. etc. The speakers. though old. work just fine. Weather stripping is wearing thinPassenger's side-view mirror is crackedClear coat on roof is heavily scratchedPassenger side door has tire scuff (I ran over a blown tire and have not been able to clean off the mark it left)Center console's left air-conditioning vent is missing a couple directional vent piecesLeather covering on clutch is coming off Accessories Custom-fitted rubber floor matsPlastic protector for trunk spaceJVC radioDriver and passenger BMW seat covers Performance The following data and expenses reflect the actual usage of the car since I started driving it (September 2014).
