The Story:We purchased this car from Audi North America at Manheim Auto Auctions. This car was one of the original display models from Audi North America hints why the car is fully loaded. When they sold the car to us. they had informed us that the car has had previous paint work to the hood and the front right quarter panel. The body work on this car looks like the original paint. no color mismatch or anything of that nature. Audi performed the body work themselves which is a good and a bad thing. Good thing because the job was done very well. bad thing because of Audis’ strict policy. After speaking to Audi. they informed us that when they perform paint work on a current model year car. they are required to report possible structural damage in order to make sure they don’t get themselves into any law suits. After speaking to the representative of Audi North America. we decided to take the car to Jim Ellis Audi to have it thoroughly inspected. They ran through the whole car including the frame and gave it a clean bill of health with the exception of front tires and fender liners which we have already taking care of. The picture above is a receipt from Audi describing the details of the inspection. Now why do I tell all of this information? The carfax report shows structural damage due to Audis’ strict policy of reporting it. To sum things up. this car does not have any structural damage. It doesn’t have any accidents reported to carfax. however it does show “structural” reported from Manheim Auctions. Please feel free to have the car inspected at any shop you would like. if it is some what local we will even arrange transportation for the inspection.
