I'm selling my CLEAN TITLE 6 speed 2003 Porsche 996 Cabriolet MT6 in Silver with a rare blue interior, ilver/white gauge faces, nd quad exhaust. I recently signed up for a ride sharing company and can't use a coupe which forced me to get another qualifying car. It's in absolutely GREAT condition, specially for its age....garaged almost 24/7. I've been watching the value on these cars and they've been very constant over the last 6 months or so.
SoCal car for most of its life so you don't have to worry about salt/rust/corrosion as much as you might with a 911 from other areas of the country.
Last oil change/inspection was about 3 months ago. Most of the miles I've put on it are highway..back and forth twice a day. BRAND NEW BATTERY WHICH HAS A WARRANTY FOR 5 YEARS!!!
It's got just over 78k which isn't too bad whatsoever and all maintenance has been well documented and on time. The well known issue of the Air Oil Separator (AOS) was also taken care of about 8 months ago so you don't have to worry about that. Also, he brakes were replaced in June 2010 and a new clutch was installed in September 2013 so those will be worry free items...I have the documentation to prove.
I've added the updated LED tail lights which give it a super new and updated look. I've had many compliments on them. I had the "PORSCHE" and "911" gloss black emblems installed as well. I installed 6000k LED taillight lamp bulbs and installed an LED clear third brake light to finish off the tail end perfectly.
I've put in 6000k headlight bulbs, s well as cool white LED lighting all throughout the car, hich makes a HUGE improvement in visibility!! I've got high temp silver auto spray on the front turn signal Amber bulbs to eliminate the "yellowish" look as you look at the headlight assembly. They still illuminate amber so US auto standards are still met. It makes for a much nicer, leaner look. I've also installed clear LED side markers on both sides...again, lear but illuminate amber.
I've added a custom exhaust system which sounds great, specially when you're in the upper RPM range. Because of that, here's almost no drone inside the cabin.
I've removed the "extremely useful" ashtray and installed a useful cubby instead...I put my phone or wallet in there while driving.
The radio is programmed to read an MP3 player when connected so you can utilize your iPod while driving as well.
I replaced the hydraulic fluid for the convertible top not too long ago so it works much smoother than before....process isn't too hard but took some time to get it done properly. I also had the entire cabriolet canvas power top power washed and car professionally detailed about 6 months ago.
I replaced the rear deck lid strut with a brand new one. Old one was showing signs of failure.
I've never raced or tracked this beauty....just to and from work with small errands here and there.
I would definately support taking it to a mechanic to have it checked out if you'd like, owever it would be at your expense...hope you understand that. It's an absolute blast to drive and the fit and finish on these cars are top of the line.
It has star shield protection on side rockers that are in good condition. Exterior paint and interior leather are in excellent condition as well...much better than others I've seen on other comparable 996's.
Comes with two keys, ocumentation and a couple different Porsche key chains.
The "bad": There are a couple of scratches on the left rear quarter panel. Also, he left bumperette has a couple of paint chips in it....accident reported in car fax report. Both of these were already there when I bought it and were apparently caused by backing up into a light pole in a parking lot. They sell brand new color matched painted replacement bumperetts on bumper plug.com for roughly $275 if it's really that big of a deal to you...it's a one for one replacement. They ship you new ones and you ship in your old ones. I just never cared too much to actually do it nor did I have the time/desire to do so. The left window can sometimes be a little finicky.
All said, 'd be very surprised if you found a comparable year/mileage/upgrades 996 in this condition. I'm extremely honest and will answer any question you have as honestly as I can.
