Description

You can't wait to own and drive this Land Cruiser. To sweeten the deal I'm throwing in 1 quart of honey, arvested from my beehives this past summer. The car is sweet and the honey is delicious. Each are one of a kind items. You won't find a '96 Land Cruiser with 134K miles anywhere else, ust like you won't find honey that originates from Springfield Virginia anywhere else. One-of-a-kind. shipping or pickup of the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer and the buyer will bear the cost of shipping/delivery/picking up the Land Cruiser.
This Land Cruiser is an original, ot a reproduction or a restore, ut like a time capsule from arguably some of Toyota's greatest days, 996. I'm the second owner since 2010 and purchased it with 77K miles on it.
I have maintained the Land Cruiser properly changing fluids on a regular schedule. Tires, t now has Yokohama Geolandar tires on it.
Now full disclosure when you read the vehicle history report you'll see that the history is marked with one accident labeled as "collision with another vehicle" on 12/3/2015. The Land Cruiser was [not at fault] accosted by another driver that struck the driver side and caused body damage to the driver's door, he driver side passenger door, nd the driver side rear wheel. Insurance covered the prescribed repairs which took place at Lindsay Collision Center (guaranteed for life). There was no frame damage. Repairs totaled $3,508 and included a full detail of the vehicle. The body panels were replaced on the driver side door, he running board was replaced and rear wheel was replaced due to the scrape that was on it, ainting was taken care of and the original pin striping was also restored. I drove the Land Cruiser away from this fender bender and drove it to the lindsay collision center to start repairs a few days later. I had removed the front brush guard during 2014.
I still drive this vehicle. I love the Land Cruiser but now that I have a pick up truck (to more comfortably tow the boat you see in the photo for longer distances) it's time to release the Land Cruiser into the wild.
If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask. This is a solid truck.
(The boat in the photo is not included. The Land Cruiser does have a class III hitch that will remain with the vehicle).
Other info:- I had the oil changed and fluids topped off at Jiffy Lube today (01.31.15)- the original third row seats come with this vehicle I just don't have them in the truck right now, hey are in great shape.- this Land Cruiser does not have the differential lock switch that you see on very few others. It does have the option of 4H and 4L. I like to use 4L when I'm pulling the boat out of the water up the boat ramp.- 1FZ-FE-type gasoline engine (DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft) in-line 6-cylinder, 76cc, 15PS, 8kgm specs)
Diff Lock:

The Land Cruiser runs with an open center differential in high range (4HI). When low range (4LO) is engaged, he center differential locks, iving a true 50/50 power split to front and rear axles. It also shuts off the ABS brakes—which helps make braking more predictable on dirt roads.

LOCKED CRUISER
A little known fact for many FZJ80 owners is that the Toyota Land Cruiser is actually capable of running with a locked center differential while in high range (4HI). To make this possible, center differential lock (CDL) switch needs to be installed.

For some unknown reason, he Toyota Land Cruiser imported into the U.S. did not come with a CDL switch. Why the U.S. Model didn't come with a CDL switch and those in Australia, anada, atin America, frica and Japan did is beyond the scope of this article. The good news is that you too can have the power to control your center differential with the push of a button.

Although the U.S. spec Land Cruiser didn't come with the CDL switch, t was pre-wired to accept one. It is also equipped with an electric locker in the center differential.

A genuine Toyota CDL switch can be purchased from the dealership for the 80 Series. The installation of a CDL switch is straight forward: take apart the center dash face, ind the CDL switch cable plug, nstall the CDL switch on center dash panel, lug in CDL switch and re-assemble dash.

The Hayes repair manual for Toyota Land Cruisers also gives a good exploded view of the assembly, crews and items that need to be removed to access the wiring behind the center dash face plate. The best advice: use a good Philips head screwdriver and a lot of patience to not break anything. From off-road.com
