Description

Here for sale is the ultimate Mach I. This 428 Super Cobra Jet, -Code, actory color of Medium Bright Blue Metallic with black Mach I stripes, Stunning color combination) front spoiler, lack Mach I interior, ith its born with tach, uages and console. It has an aftermarket rear spoiler. Why Ultimate you ask?Because out of 191,522 Mustangs built in 1970 there were 40,975 Mach I's produced. Out of that 40,975 Mach I's there were only 331 Mach I sport roof,W-Code 428 Super Cobra Jet, rag Pack with the ultimate 430 gear ratio, uilt for all out drag racing. The production number of 331 is the total production for automatics and 4 speeds combined. Resulting in the rarest, ost collectible and sought after Mach I's built. What is even more impressive about this Mach I it is a1 of 1 production. Which makes it a blue chip in the muscle car market. This is an opportunity for a buyer that does not have a 120K to buy a fully restored show car but has the opportunity to buy this W-Code in un-restored conditionand bring it to its deserved show car status. Keep in mind that it is1 of1 produced with these options listed on the deluxe Marti Report in the photos.
This Mach I also comes with:Lois C. Eminger ReportDoor TagOriginal Factory Dealer Invoice stating all optionsThe dash VIN tag and the right and left, ront fender aprons VIN numbers are all original and present (they can be seen in the photos) upon viewing the photos of the drivers side fender apron you can see that it had previous light fender bender and was hammered and dollied out. This imperfection was just on the side sheet metal not on the frame at all.Original Tach guages and center console. The fold down rear seat is missing the trunk divider section. The rear end appears to be original with its 31 spline axels and its nodular case. However the gears are not 430 they have been changed by a previous owner and I am not of aware of the gear ratio.
Upon viewing the photos you will see that this Mach I is not a rusted out piece of junk.I own and operate an automotive, estoration and repair center andin my opinion this Mach I will need the following:
Right and left rear quarter panelsRight and left inner trunk extensionsRight and left outer wheel house(Not because they are rusted out but because the wheel wells were hammered inside to accommodate racing slicks as this car was drag raced)There is a small rust spot on the drivers side front lower door, nderneath the Mach I molding that can easily be repaired.Floor pan is in remarkably good condition throughout with the exception of the right and left ares where the driver and passengers feet would go.Tail panel around the taillight area has small rush issues, hich are very common and should be replaced. There are also two small spots in the front cowl which are easily accessible to be repaired.
The Good:Frame rails front and rear including torque boxes with all supports, hock towers, nner wheel houses, nner and outer rockers and trunk areas are all in awesome condition. All top sheet metal, ncluding drip rails and rear window area are in excellent condition. The shaker hood is rust free and in excellent condition with its original retainers, he trunk lid is rust free as well. The right and left front fender extensions are made of pot metal and are not cracked and are in excellent condition as are the quarter extensions. All of the Mach I lower moldings are in excellent condition. The front brakes and rotors are original and included.
Included in this auction are a list of new parts and they are as follows:
  • Tail panel
  • Right and left full quarter panels
  • Right and left outer wheel houses
  • Complete, ull floor pan (if you so choose to replace and not repair the two front areas described above)
  • Right and leftseat braces
Let me close by saying this is not a desperate sale. If it meets the more than fair reserve someone is going to get an awesome deal on one of the rarest, ost desirable Mach I's built. If not it will go on the back burner, o be retored next year. The only reason why I am considering selling this Mach I is because I purchased a 1970 W-Code SCJ Shelby GT 500.
