Description

One owner 2004 Volkswagen Passat TDI 38+ mpg
163012 miles and climbing since I still drive it to work a few times a month
sunroof
power windows
power locks
leather door cards (cloth was falling off the original ones)
5spd auto with the manual mode
small custom hitch for a bike rack
full service history with documentation
always had the proper 505.01 oil (VERY IMPORTANT)
BFGoodrich tires have less than 15k miles on them
all recalls were completed by Garlyn Shelton VW in Bryan
best tank mpg was 46.1 (100% hwy and was mostly done with a tailwind on flat ground at 55-60 mph)
worst tank mpg was 33.9 (100% city driving on that tank)
most tanks are in the 36mpg-39mpg range with mixed city and hwy driving
I have the service records dating all the way back to 2004; here are some of the highlights-
4/20/10 timing belt changed @ 87,056
4/25/10 new glow plugs
12/03/10 alternator pulley changed (common wear item)
09/02/13 new battery
02/04/2014 new torque converter -- $2017.83
02/26/2016 new windshield
The following service was completed on 03/15/16 @ 162,922 miles at a cost of $1973.53 (labor and parts):
timing belt and water pump changed
motor mounts and transmission mounts replaced
thermostat and housing changed
oil changed
new oil and fuel filters
balance shaft module deleted (the BSM is prone to failure) and oil pump changed to ALH style
PLEASE make sure that when you buy a B5.5 Passat TDI that the BSM has been taken care of. I love these cars and HATE seeing them in the junkyards due to owner negligence.
This car spent most of it's life commuting from College Station to Houston 4 days a week along with being the main vacation car for road trips. My 3 kids don't really fit in the backseat without too much arguing so my wife and I decided to sell the Passat but only after we were sure it would last another 160k miles. I love these VW TDIs and never wanted to sell it but I can't justify 3 family cars on insurance when the oldest kid won't be driving for at least 8 years.
The outside shows a few minor scratches/dents. The biggest one was caused by an errant golf ball and is on the driver side front fender. I have included a close-up picture of it and it is about 1"x2". Our Passat is 100% ready to go and I would hop in and take it absolutely anywhere without hesitation. If you aren't familiar with the TDI VW cars beyond the crap in the news, his one does not fall under the current EPA cheating scandal.

If you want different or more specific pictures let me know and I will email them to you. I work graveyard shift so it may take me a bit to get back to you.
A $250 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours of auction close. The remainder is due via bank issued cashiers check or cash in my hand within 7 days. If it is a cashiers check it will be verified prior to allowing the car to leave. The buyer will receive a bill of sale, clean Texas title, nd a Texas DPS form 130-U if the new buyer is going to register in TX. The buyer is 100% responsible for arrangement of shipping or pickup of the vehicle. I can pick up or deliver as far as the airport in Austin, X but the timing of it will have to be scheduled around my work.
