I purchased this beautiful first generation Audi TT roadster for my wife this past winter from a dealer in Florida. Recently, ports and Exotic Car magazine named it one of the top 10 future collectible sports cars. It's had two previous owners, oth in Florida. Unfortunately my wife has treated this car like a museum piece, riving it sparingly on perfect days and otherwise it is sitting in our garage under a cover. I've convinced her to free up the garage space for another toy for me. Yeah.
There are two rare things about this car: It's an automatic and it has the wonderful baseball glove leather optional interior.
I collect vintage cars and would never buy an automatic (except for my wife) but I was amazed how much fun and responsiveness Audi built in to this automatic transmission, specially in sport mode. If you do a lot of around town driving, ou'll grow to appreciate having the automatic. It also gets 22 mpg in the city and that's hard to beat for a performance car like this.
Before I had the car delivered to us in Virginia I had the dealer do the timing belt/water pump service (a $1,500 service) so it's ready to go. When it arrived in Virginia I had the local Audi dealer do a fresh oil/filter change and state inspection. For Virginia buyers the car has a 2/17 inspection sticker.
The pictures tell the story... a few not really noticeable dings and very minor scratches but otherwise it's in showroom shape. The interior is near perfect except for a minor seam split in the seat bottom of the drivers seat. A/C blows cold. A common issue with TT's is a pixel issue with the digital readout on the dash. This one has minor pixilation but everything is readable. There's a missing knob for the passenger door window so it is only controlled by the drivers door switch. It also has a corrected manual knob for the glove box.
This is the front wheel drive roadster with the 1.8 turbo (180 hp) engine. It also has the preferred (at least for me) manual convertible top- so no issues common with automatic tops. The cloth top is in as-new condition and has a glass rear window.
We have $8,900 in the car plus our cost to have it shipped from Florida to Virginia. Open to reasonable offers.
The car is garaged at my home, couple of miles from the airport in Charlottesville, a., bout 2 hours southwest of Washington D.C. Fly in and drive it home or I will be happy to assist your shipper or recommend one that I've used before. Feel free to send questions through Ebay Email and I will answer them promptly. Personal inspections and test drives are welcomed. Nothing to hide.
