The insurance company or auction have to jump the vehicle from the trunk (directly to the battery) in order to check the mileage to make it "ACTUAL" on the title, but the trunk has a power latch system, and since the car has a safety fuse feature on the positive battery terminal to prevent electrical fires in the event of a crash, the cable terminals that are located in the engine compartment are disabled as a result of this fuse. This is why it is pretty common to have not actual mileage on newer salvage vehicles with these advanced safety features.
