I'm selling my beloved M5 ("Max")...it's been a great 10 years together. I bought him in 2005 from the original owner, city commissioner in Paducah, Y, nd drove him home (sadly a few rock chips resulted). It had roughly 25,000 miles on it then, ow it has just over 69,000 -- just over 4K miles per year. I wish I'd driven it more -- it's intoxicating -- but I have two other cars, wo dogs, nd I travel a lot so it's been in the garage most of the time. And to this day I haven't see a color combo I like better than Sterling over black (extended leather). I will weep a tear when it pulls out of my driveway.
It's in great shape, ee the pictures or come see it in person. No wrecks, ery few scratches (see pictures). It's in great shape mechanically as well -- I have a recent mechanic inspection report you can see (Precision Motor Works in Santa Clara) and/or have your mechanic check it out. Other than normal maintenance I recently had the back brakes done, eplaced the thermostat/temp sensor and water pump, nd replaced an aircon hose. The front brakes are still in good shape and the clutch (original...I baby it) still grips firmly. Several years ago I had the suspension bushings replaced by BMW Stevens Creek. Other small issues: the front passenger seat doesn't recline (common-ish for e39's, don't think it's hard to fix); the sunroof slides fine but doesn't tip up (another e39 thing); the rear tires are pretty new but the fronts will probably have to be replaced in the next few months.
Let me know if you want further info. It's posted locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early.
