2008 BMW 6 Series 2dr Conv M6 Description This car has 47600 miles on the odometer but it had a complete engine overhaul just 200 miles ago. The 200 miles was driven oin 5 separate days to make sure there is no issue of any kind and no check engine light before delivery. Proper break in requires that the next 800 miles to be driven under 5000 rpm and under 100MPH. Rest assure all parts from BMW are warranted for 12 months. So why did it need an engine rebuilt? Well, hese V10 have a fairly common issue with rod bearings and one of them was scorched and cause some smokin, hen we diagnose it, e found that there is an internal issue and #8 cylinder piston was also scratched. We took the engine and transmission out to make sure we see what is going on and we saw rod bearing #8 was scuffed so we decide to complete rebuilt the engine. What was done? Of course all engine seals and gaskets replaced, ll rings replaced, ll rod bearings and crank bearings replaced, eads polished and block honed and damaged piston replaced. Detail inspection done on every internal part to make sure our effort is not waste, while we have it all apart, e also service the air conditioning and transmissio, ll fluids changed after flushing ( oil, rake, ransmission, oolant, ir conditioning fluid). We also service the clutch and inspected it, lutch wear was less than 50%. Brand new starter as well as oxygen sensor were also replaced. Also all brakes checked and they are better than 50% . Tires are near new and chasis is in perfect shape. Top works perfectly and everything else works like new. With this rebuil, t is basically a new car internally and the paint and all cosmetics are like new also ( or we would not have spend close to $17000 in retail price on this car !!!)
